Mwo Kills My Computer

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit and I'm very satisfied with this stable system. I had no issues till I started to play MWO. It's the only application capable of shooting my system down. By shooting down I mean turning my graphics card off (no signal on screen) and producing terrible sound. Even hardware reset button is not working any more when it happens (middle in fight).
It's only possible because your game needs admin rights to start - no idea why, I have plenty of other games that keep them self updated without admin rights. Could you consider giving us a option to just start game without threaten our security? I can live with that if you need admin rights to update (even if it's possible to avoid it), but forcing people to give up all security just to play a game is a bit too much, imho.
Thanks in advance,
regards,
Erich.
My specification:
CPU: Intel CORE i5-3470 3,2GHz BOX 6M LGA1155
GPU: Gigabyte Radeon HD7850 2048MB DDR5/256bit (lateast stable driver)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB, DIMM,1600MHz, DDR3, CL9, XMP,Non-ECC
PSU: Enermax ENP550AWT-B
MB: Gigabyte GA-Z77-D3H Intel Z77 LGA 1155
no fancy hardware inside and my system is not getting too hot.

what are you using to check temps?

Almost sounds like your cpu cooler might not be properly seated...

if this is your board: http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813128542
which slot is it currently in?
I see gigabyte models:
GA-Z77M-D3H-MVP http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813128554
GA-Z77MX-D3H http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813128542
GA-Z77X-D3H http://www.newegg.co...N82E16813128546
and none match just GA-Z77-D3H..

I don't think it could be my computer, because I have no problems playing games with more complex graphic like Witcher 2 or Metro 2033. MWO is the only game that crash my computer.
I use CPUID Hardware Monitor to monitor my temperature, no issues here. (max 62 C - CPU and 60 C - GPU)
I also have no FPS issues, I play it on max settings with good frame rate.
Mainboard is: http://www.gigabyte....pid=4327&dl=#ov
The only expansion card (GPU) is sitting in PCIEX 16 slot. (checked).
Regards,
Erich.

If your game is crashing, it is your computer. Obviously.
Whether it's software or hardware is yet to be determined, but I also agree it sounds like a Hardware or hardware setup issue.
62 is, to me, too hot. Check your North Bridge temps.

which means its a x16 slot.. but only runs at x4....
if you're card is in the top blue pci express slot then you're good there..
have you taken the cooler off of your CPU before and put it on without applying new thermal paste?

Edit: didn't see where you mention GPU temps

If it would be my computer, I would have some crashes in other games, but I don't. Witcher 2 and Metro 2033 are very graphics intensive. I also do some video encoding (in Lightroom) and compiling (Linux kernel) with no issues, so it's hard to believe that MWO can take more power then I can supply. My PSU is also rather oversized and from good manufacture.
I've checked PCI, i have my GPU in x16 slot and no other slots used, having good performance so I don't think it's a problem.
The system is 7 months old and showed no problem till I played MWO. I've put him together myself and have not taken off my CPU cooler since then. My room temperature is also rather moderate, not extending 22 C.
I thank you for your input thou, now I need a beer, will be back in few hours.
Regards,
Erich.
P.S. I play in full screen mode, but as I stated before, MWO is the only game that force me to use power button to recover.
P.P.S I don't know which/if any sensor shows PSU temperature, but voltage seems ok. On +12V i have minimum 11,66V and maximum 11,95V so it looks stable.

Be sure it's also running at the proper bus speed. Someone not long ago had a similar soudning problem and found their PCI slot had defaulted to 1.1 specs or something like that...

What graphics settings are you using?
have you tried turning down the resolution or graphics settings to see if the problem still happens?
I am a professional IT support persion (working in a school), this is how I would troubleshoot the problem
About the "terrible sound", does it come out of the speekers/headphones or is it from the case?
if it is from the speekers this is not unusural when a program using the PCs audio crashes but if from the case it could indicate a problem with your fans or PSU
Does the power button work normaly (press and release or hold down for about 5 seconds to turn off) or do you need to pull the power cable?
It is, in my experiance, rare for the reset button to not work while the power button does (assuming reset it is connected correctly) this sugests overheating or a hardware fault on the Motherboard.
As soon as possible after a crash go into BIOS and check the system monitor/hardware monitor/system health (it should be one of those options or something simular) the tempreature readings for the CPU will be there. if it is above 60c I suggest looking for fan settings, make sure the fan is set for max speed before the CPU reaches 50c
appoligies if this sounds patronising that is not my intent however the wording of your post sugested you thought you were comunicating direct with the developers, this is a forum were other MWO players will try to help.
there is a good chance that none of the developers will ever see this forum thread.
if you want help from offical MWO support use the following email address

I would also check to see if there are any driver updates available for your chipset and/or sound card (if you don't use integrated sound).

As for other games being more graphically intensive, have you actually logged where they were pegging your GPU at 100% or is that observation based on how the games looks? Asking cause no hard details/numbers have been given.
The reset button slight press is to tell the system to power down (by default). Turn it off without the OS shutting down (hard turn off) then hold in the button for 10 seconds or so.

Choppy sound is usually a sign of low bandwidth, or packet loss. Also, if are being asked to sign in as an admin, then you need to have your admin give you permission to run the game as an admin, so you don't have to enter an admin password every time you try to launch the game.

Again, I personally, think 60 is too hot.
But check your North Bridge temp. It could be in the 80's or 90's.
Also, there's a very good chance you are getting a bluescreen, but the graphic card driver fails.
You might want to check the Windows logs for hardware failures.
Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event viewer
I would check right after a crash and see what's in red.
Your powersupply is good, but it's only a 550W.
You could be pushing your power supply too far.
Final question would be; are you overclocking anything?
I wouldn't just act like a snob and shot down everyone's recommendations, many of us have done this for awhile. Many of us do this for a living. If you assume one thing isn't the problem and move on, you are missing some basic troubleshooting that could save you hours of time trying to solve Software bugs.

we been thur lots of issue with computer crashing on us for no reason all of a sudden
we will spend hours trying to figure out the reason why until we find out it just silly mistake of forgetting to plug in the power rail to the GPU or MB ( many times after doing an upgrade)
it best follow their advise and just check your error logs to rule out software issues before moving to hardware issues
so far with this crashes I do see it could be 4 thing that might be failing(GPU,CPU,Mobo & PSU), best confirm them by using backup parts from your friends or pass the parts to your friends' computer to do a test
it your system runs stable after swapping out the parts, then you have found the culprit.
