Assuming I stay with the stock engine, how's this look for brawling / skirmishing?

http://goo.gl/73AZv

I realize now, I put UAC ammo by mistake...obviously I'd address that on a REAL mech!

Thanks in advance.

did you want and ac/5 or uac? the uac is a ton short.

Solid enough loadout, but you'll have to see how big the frame is before trying this. If it's awesome sized with a different frame it'll just get torn to shreds

The regular AC/5. Ultras always jammed higher for me than most!

I always use high powered ballistic weapons for assault mechs, Gauss, AC20, AC10. never tried the LBX10.

AC 20 won't work due to the mech's actuators. I also prefer the Gauss, but anything heavier than an AC 5 on this hog, is too heavy for much more weaponry as well.

If I find this mech doesn't have enormous side hit boxes and I go with an XL power plant, THEN my options get much sweeter!

***EDIT: The LBX 10 is crappola in it's current manifestation.

Well your not going to have enough AC/5 ammo for a sustained fight with only one ton. Even though the ER PPC/6 ML build is going to tend to run hot, especially if your planning to fire all the MLs as a group, I would probably drop 1 DHS in favor of more ammo. Another option would be to drop a ton of armor off the legs to get the room you needed.

As far as the LBX 10, it isn't the greatest choice for this mech. I don't consider it crap but its extremely limited (less than 150m) effective range means it really belongs on something a bit faster in my opinion.

I've noticed a lot of these builds are really light on heat sinks.
So I tried starting with the max number of HS and then removing them as I added weapons.

I ended up with an XL325 18DHS NO Endo, 6mL, PPC, Gauss and 6tons ammo crammed into every extra available slot.
Slow but it might be manageable heat wise.

Can get an XL350 in it and still have 18 DHS with 3t of gauss ammo.

I like that config, probably run something similar when I feel like causing massive amounts of death and destruction. I always like some type of missles on the mech so it will be interesting to create some configs for the BM.

The 6 MLs will be tough to manage on 18 DHS, especially combined with a PPC. However if you stagger fire say two groups of 3, lay off the PPC in close and use the Gauss as a filler when running hot I think it is doable and that is going to be my build or very smiliar.

As far as the Gauss, you don't need more than 4 tons of ammo (have never went through 40 rounds of Gauss in a single match and I have used them alot) and most of the time can get away with 3. This will free up a ton or two for a bigger engine, BAP, AMS or additional DHS.

Edit: yeah just did a test to see how bad the heat would be with 18 DHS and 6 MLs and it is a bit hot. I think it might be doable if you stagger fire groups of 3 but your definately going to have to lay off the PPC when doing so.

That being the case, I am thinking of dialing back the medium lasers to a total of 4 on my build. That will give me a few more DHS and a more sustainable heat profile.

I see what you're saying but after adding all the weapons and maxing out the DHS there are single slots available that might as well be filled with ammo. It doesn't explode so take the extra ammo and go for some extra damage or shots you normally not take a chance shooting for. Also great for a nOOb who only make 3 out of 10 shots.

EDIT: I lied. Only 3t of gauss ammo with the XL350 version. Don't know why I though there was 4.

I'm thinking I'll try running Tib's BLR-1G instead.

What do you guys think about this? Sure, you have to stagger fire due to the heat scale rule, but use chain fire or fire in staggered groups of two, and you should be able to keep significant pressure on a target.

Not much of an alpha, though.

would exchange 2 lasers, for 2 ppc probably run a little cooler, since ppc recycle is a bit longer. besides peeps run for the hills when you start throwing lightning bolts at them.

Here's mine so far. Not much of a missile fan myself, don't really like SRMs.
