I have been spending quite a bit of time viewing this section of the forum, looking for new discussions or comments about the Thunderbolt and Shadow Hawk but for the past two days, none have made the front page.

Guess the Battlemaster is the only one anyone is interested in and I guess it goes to show why it is only available at the $80 Overlord package hehe. Wonder how many people are buying the Overlord for the sole reason that it is the only way to get the Phoenix Battlemaster?

Hell, I'm most looking forward to the Locust, but then I'm a bit crazy about my lights.

I know right. They just want to throw in 7 PPCs. People who keep asking about the Annihilator want to put in 4 Gauss and 4 PPCs in that one too.

The assault and heavy classes are dominating the game at the moment...what did you expect?

Actually, I'm looking forward to the Shadow Hawk and the Thunderbolt most.

THEN the BLR-1G. Mind you from an art perspective, I am all about that BLR. Especially since it doesn't have pinkie thumbs or silly looking claws for hands.

But even though I wants them all, will probably be hard pressed to give up my Victors and Jagermechs.

No it's not.

But there is a large QUITE LARGE part of the Playerbase that only seems to think moar PPC+Gauss or ****. Hence why so much cries on the forums.

In the constantly changing world of MWO nerf/buff pendulum, you never know what will be useful.

Sorta.

True, Battlemaster is what made me go with the Overlord, but I still would have done the $60 as the Thunderbolt/Shadow Hawk does look interesting.

I want the Battlemaster more for the iconic nature of the chassis.

The Thunderbolt is probably more my style of Mech though.

My son wants the Shadowhawk because he's just read the Grey Death Legion novel, which features it.

Same. Assaults are not my cup of tea. I prefer heavies and mediums.

CheezeRus [BLR-1G]: 7xPPC, 300XL, DHS, Endo

Please let them do it. One trigger pull and the heat will destroy their IS.

I am most looking forward to the Shadow Hawk, myself. I don't venture above 60 tons, so the Shadow Hawk is kind of the holy grail of mediums, regardless of the sub-optimal hardpoints on the Phoenix variant. Throw in the 5M and 2D variants (the former for lots and lots of missiles and the latter becoming usable since we can add our own armor, thank god) to round out the chassis and you have a nice bunch of jumping troopers.

Of course, that is until the released model is as big as a Stone Rhino

The Battlemaster will probably be the third of the 4 I play, after the Tbolt and Shadowhawk (in that order). It will be good, and you'll see a million of em, but the TBolt plays more my style.

Will it overtake my Jags and (hopefully) Orion? Maybe.

An observation on the Shadow Hawk: that head-mounted missile hardpoint is going to make for some HILARIOUS zombie builds.

Just put a Streak SRM-2 in the head, CASE in each side torso, one jump jet and one ton of SSRM ammo in each leg, and one jump jet in the center torso. Fill the right torso with Machine Guns and the left torso with Streak SRM-2's, and run around chasing lights all day, even after both torsos have been blown off.

I agree about the 12 mech sentiment.

Also, T-bolt is on top of my list of the 4 available. The only one I am "less" excited for is the locust, but mostly because my current ownership of light mechs is essentially NILL, so I have a lot of options in the weight class comparitively for new stuff.

i bought it because of the shadow hawk. The others are a nice bonus, especially the thunderbolt seems to have a good layout.

So why the big pack? because of... my steiner friends... i don't have any assaults but they want that damn steiner scout lance; so why don't do it with style?

i ended up getting the overlord for the extra premium time more than the mechs. plus it'd save me 50 million c-bills or so if i ever decided to buy them down the line anyway to spend on other mechs (i try to avoid using MC for mech purchases and don't own any hero mechs). i'm a mediums guy so shadowhawk would be my primary interest, the T-bolt.

I want all four mechs, so I went Overlord for that. Each one has its own merits, and actually I was most excited to see the Shadow Hawk. It also seemed like a bad idea, since I'll be playing this game until either I die or the game goes defunct, to forgo the sheer value that the Overlord pack offered for the money. Plus, I am happy to support PGI. There have been bumps on the road, for sure, and there are more to come, but for all that this game is still amazing and has been steadily getting even better.

Only want the Battlemaster? Debatable.

If Phoenix packages were done like the founder's mechs then you might have a case to make.

I want to try the Shadowhawk is the new Hunchback.

Thunderbolt? Not sure it might be so wide Awesomes can hide behind it.

The Battlemaster is up in the air as well but I suspect we'll see lots of AC & PPC boats.

Going overload. Probably end up in the shadowhawk, but it'll be good to find out how the battlemaster and thunderbolt handles.
