my game plays in stop-frame/ slow-motion.
my download speed at the comp. is about 350-370kbs
ping in game about 100
comp. is 1 1/2 yr old Toshiba Satellite (655 ?)
drivers up to date, even BIOS up-dated to 1.80
using Iobit turbo boost for game play.
any not 2 technical advice on what is wrong/ can be done ?
is there a diagnostic tool related to this game that could help ?

...found a lil trick...go to catalyst control - powerplay - set powerplan to save battery on all setting.
my game now plays with just a bit of lag.
apparently my system splits the game load between 2 components, turning power to min. shifts the load ratio.
also chasing down a Toshiba/ Intel display driver so i can download the latest AMD graphics, should get me to normal... i hope, lmao

Just means your Frames-Per Second is bad (FPS)

Most likely because your computer is having trouble running the game due to older/bad hardware

Try turning down the Graphical settings in options

It's a toshiba satellite. The model you mentioned is priced at $599 for a new one, which the low price means this is more likely designed for school work or basic home use.

Specs including an intel HD "graphics," which is a video card designed for movies more than video games. The ram allocated to graphics is abysmal. 4 Gigs ram for the entire laptop. It is capable of playing games, but MWO is designed to be very high quality (even if they dropped it significantly due to the low-end PC users being the largest part of the F2P market).

I'd hate to say this, but while the specs of the laptop may be above a playstation 1, it's below a playstation 2. Essentially in the simplest terms you're trying to play a PS3 / Xbox 360 game on a Sega Saturn.

No offense is intended here, but the fact the game even runs is a small miracle in itself.

Feel the laptop after playing a match or two. Notice how hot it gets? That is not healthy for it. Make sure it stays well ventilated, and turn the "resolution" of the game down to the lowest numbers it can go. That will help as much as possible, but even then you will still be a bit sluggish.

You wouldn't happen to have a desktop computer nearby, would you? Surprisingly they are usually cheaper than gaming laptops in spite of always performing better, and a desktop PC from 2006 is more likely to run this game a bit better.

There is nothing you can do. The Intel HD graphics is not even a graphics card, it is a section integrated in your CPU. The things it can do are very limited and playing modern 3D games is definitely not within its boundaries. Your laptop is a media and office laptop, it is simply not built for gaming. As Koniving said, the temperatures are also not good for you components.

The only thing you can do is play games on a PC that is built for playing games. Kon's comparison "PS3 / Xbox 360 game on a Sega Saturn" is pretty good. This game and any other 3D game with a modern engine just won't run on your Toshiba. Nothing you can do about it.

Notebooks have the drawback that you can not upgrade these so well. The grafik is a low end. It is good for browsing or videos. But not good for games.
Unless you bought a gaming notebook (one that is made for playing games) they are not good enough for gaming.

And i guess there is no way to upgrade the GFX card to a gaming card. Even external grafik cards are not fast enough for this.
So there is no way other than turning all grafik in game to minimum. Its this dont help, you still have low FPS, there is not much more you can do.

Like someone said. Its like trying to go on a formular one race with a VW beetle.

Heres a kick in the coolant too, I bought MY toshiba satellite for $599 also(from futureshop), but because its a newer model (S855) it can actually run MWO pretty well, FPS only goes down the toilet if I try to run it on higher settings, I keep it on low though so everything runs like butter I really hate FPS drops while in the middle of a fast busy fight where every shot counts.

Wait, so you mean it actually starts on a toshiba satelite?

Mind = Blown.

I have Sattelite L650D 15M with Radeon HD 5650 and triple-core Phenom processor and I can't run MWO on it. I mean I can start it, but framerate is about 10-15 FPS depending on the settings. Ant it gets hot in no time.
Games like Witcher 2 or Hitman Absolution run flawlessly on mediun to high settings, but MWO just doesn't want to. I guess it's something with the graphics drivers - Sattelites have dedicated GPU and I can't use latest drivers for it released by AMD and can only install version from Toshiba site that is like 4 years old.

Yours has an AMD processor and integrated graphics. There's a reason both Microsoft and Sony chose that style. It's also a quad core processor, where the original person is listed as having a single or dual core.

To make up for the lack of actual graphics, you need a minimum of 4 cores to your processor. Though as Krzy said even with a dedicated graphics card, a 3 core processor just isn't enough. ...actually never even heard of a 3 core processor before.

------

There just isn't anything this guy can do without an actual computer. Typically desktops are far better for this task anyway, and a lot cheaper.

http://www.toshiba.c...lite-l650d-15g/ - it's pretty much the same I have.
As i said - I suppose it's not hardware performance problem, as other games run on it, but rather software - I'm pretty sure those outdated drivers (actually 3 years old, not 4) won't allow CryEngine to run smoothly. So far I couldn't find a way to install lates AMD drivers, but I suppose that would actually improve performance.

If you are looking to further reduce the load on your computers components, there are some config set ups you can use that drastically lower the graphics of the game if you have an older computer. It makes it look kind of like N64, but i would guess it would be a lot smoother ;)

What would these be? Curious?

In C:\Games\Pirhanna Games\Mechwarrior Online\
There is a file called user.cfg.

It’s not recommended by PGI to edit it because any graphic issues or crashes you get as a result of editing the config PGI won’t really care about, however this could make it run a lot smoother on a lower end machine and help you get into the game to test out other features so they’re not 100% against it.

The second post in this link has a bunch of commands that you can copy and paste into it. you can tweak the numbers in the user.cfg file or delete entire commands if you want to use the game's default settings.
