OMG, I just noticed that they removed the view distance limit for heat and thermal vision modes and made them look awesome...

That' a good change at least.

Edit: Hmm... maybe that was just on Tourmaline?

Edit2: OK, definitely on Tourmaline and Alpine.

Don't like new AC sounds: it's more like a muffled blows than shots.

So, after playing a couple of maps I found something VERY frustrating with the new movement system. If you try using JJs to get up a cliff and stop before you fully clear the slope you will get stuck there if you try to keep moving up the hill and if you try to jump again you cannot move forward since your direction is momentum based. Attempting to jump up the cliffs while "stuck" will only let you move vertically and prevents you from being able to scale what you should be able to climb. The problem, as far as I see it, is that it caps your speed at 0 preventing you from being able to actually jump forward and continue up the slope. Granted you can "unstick" yourself by going back down the hill and trying again but it makes traversing a map like canyon a tremendous hassle to get any sort of mobility with the jets.

on a side note, love the new sound assets for the PPC

So I know it is probably an absolutely absurd notion, but could we perhaps actually get the July Director's Update now? I was under the impression that it would be logical to release these announcements before the start of the month they're meant to be about, not after the first patch. That way people can see what you're intending (I say intending for a reason) to release in the month's patches.

It does seem folly to have Director's Updates that aren't updated often enough, no?

Realism Patch= great. Asked by my self a week or two ago, how such a cumbersome Mech the size of an Atlas can climb steep hills, not to mention running along sideways.

Whats about light Mechs running behind me along a 80° steep wall with only one leg connected to the wall? Will this be realistic wise fixed too, or is it already with this patch?

Sounds are great to, but the sound from my right torso guns coming now out of my left speakers.

I like everything in this patch except for the new weapon sounds. They sound mostly staticky to me, grainy sort-of. Since so many people are liking the new sounds I wonder if I don't have some sort of hardware issue. Anyone else experience this?

New camo "Tartan": when applied on Cataphract colors underline CT, LT and RT in manner "target here". :)

Don't see any movement problems on any map with Commando, Raven, Cicada, Hunchback...

It doesn't seem like overheating past 120% does enough internal damage

more importantly...

I have stability issues for the first time in months, and I crashed twice in an hour.

I drove a 3PPC 1Gauss DS Victor all evening after the patch..
I could not manage to get to 120%.

Maybe if I really wanted to play dumb I could.. but it did never happen by accident.

If they post the July Director Update after the first patch, they know the update will be half right.

What exactly do you mean by "upgrade your PC". Maybe I'm missing something but I do not see how my computers performance capabilities can affect how the game behaves in regards to the way my mech behaves when I attempt to jump at an angle and being unable to when the game thinks standing still is the same as traveling forward at 0kph.

It's what they did last month... That's how we all learned of the Orion/QuickDraw switch. I'm wondering if they're holding off because they are trying to finalize what's coming out in the (assumed) July 23rd patch. Hoping for big things.

Anyway....

Love the new movement mechanics, though I did get stuck just short of the top of a hill when my JJ didn't get me all the way to the top. Will have to be more careful with that.

Meh on the sound changes. I do like the new TAG one.

I did see someone overheat themselves to death last night, it made me happy.

(chuckles)

Even though I am not innocent with some of my postings, some of the PGI/IGP folks must be sitting back, mumbling.."No fraking wonder no one else has taken up this IP, fraking ungrateful *&UJJS. Anyone up for some Starbucks?".

:(

Ok

The patch fixed alot... I like it... BUT OMG...not everyting.

The new part where climbing slows a mech up a hill ...is broken completely...WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When a mech can not step up a simple raise from the water to the beach of 3 meters( not 10 or 20 like a hill or mountion side

example: I'm walking my awesome mech in water on the canyon map and turn to step up on the beach.. which looks about 3 meters.. and can't step up on it..WTF..I could last week...

Now this is NOT a hill side with a continous climb involved.. it's a simple step up..

yet this (NOT SO GOOD MATH) won't alow it.

I can see this (new math) doing what it should most of the time , for hills side as tall as the mech, and mountains.. seems to be right...sort of.

but then there is this!

Also the math for the Snow covered areas should be diferent then that of the Rock. Please, check your data. Snow and Rock have very little in common. Mechs should by thier wieght alone... be able to climb rock better the snow.by 30% .

Put on some steel tipped boots and go climb some snow and then some rock please.....REALLY..,go try it..
see what I'm saying.. then put oj heavy packs on and try it again.. like hiking.

I get adding this New Math for climbing, thier needed to be some variation in how well each mech climbs..
oh yeah.. please give me new skills and advantages..but.. lets get the Math right.

Make some exceptions in your NEW MATH for climbing and the hieght of each Mech's STEP UP/CLIMB ability.

Any Raise with angle of X or greater , but that is less then Y hieght= is NOT a hill. and therefor the formula doesn't not apply... unless the mech's STEP UP hieght is less then ??? ahh I'm no damn programmers.. you get the idea.

SO.. fix this new climbing MATH please!!!!!!!!
