even bright colours dont stick out much.

Thanks for the option, but a little more fidelity on the skin would be nice.

Also, if this is the change i mirror others here, let us keep or revert to the old skin, much prefferred on the hunchie and others then.

It really is too dark/dirty. I played with it a while last night and couldn't tell what colors I had put on it half the time. While I want to be able to change the colors, there is too little of the secondary and tertiary colors to really matter due to the unchangeable "fourth" color (dirt).

Why couldn't we just have the ability to change all of the colors on the old pattern? A new, almost completely worn off, pattern wasn't on the request list as far as I had seen.

Personally I like the dark dirty look, I have been vocal via PM and 'ask the devs' for months. I can't wait for them to do the Catapult. I hated the oxidized penny look. I do think those that liked it should be able to keep it..but we should have the option to change it if we want. If we could do it on regular mechs that we paid c-bills for, it goes without saying that we have the OPTION on ones that we paid real money for.

Want the ability to color and apply decals to our founder mechs.

As an Atlas pilot, I am not looking forward to what they've rolled out though: because of the 4 founders mechs, the atlas was already the most worn. Its already 60-70% rubbed off paint / dark grey.

The problem is in game none of this shows. The grey worn areas just bleed together into a charcoal mush blur.

+1 for the ability to paint our founders.
+1 for the look of worn and used.
-100 for what they delivered with the jenner. way WAY too worn. The thing looks like the buildings in Frozen City when the textures don't load.......

No reason for it. its too overboard.

They also messed up the base colors. I want the original cyan-blue and yellow.
I looked at the palette and closest I could get were Golyboy and Maize. Needs to be a unique shade of grey-cyan-blue.
I also agree that there is too much grime/dirt.

New founders colours and camo vs old catapult colours and camo for comparison in difference i guess. I don't have an old jenner screenshot to use.

With every single corner with the same amount of sand-blast effect to it, it looks "pillowy" and the same grey colour on everything looks flat. There'd be some parts that are shiny because it basically has been polished, and the more tighter geometry areas would not be as worn away.

Anyways. It's bugging me because it was just fine the way it was before, and now they're spending time on it to look worse. I'm happy for their want to keep us happy, but in this case it isn't called for and I don't know why they're doing it.

I have this shot of the second round of stock jenny colouration(and trying the then new channel), I have to admit personally I like the new overly warn appearance (looks like its been quicksand diving). However at the same time, I also understand why people liked the semi-battered but still pampered appearance of these. Even those wanting the look of that never been driven, first run early serial number, garage kept founder mech that was inherited from a long lost relation who had hidden it away in the Terran E.T. landfill.

The new base blue looks like its got a bit of hellblau mixed in.

I think I can get used to this new look as well, but I just don't understand the reason behind the change. It seems like they have a lot of top-priority things at the moment. but i just don't see how redoing the camo yet another time is any kind of well-spent time.
Anyways. They can make them look like clowns if they wanted to, doesn't matter the look. I just don't understand . :) :( :(
I'm trying to get used to this look though. I'm sure iwhen I see what the other mechs look like I'll settle. Some patterns just do not look good on smaller mechs, so hopefully the hunchback or catapult redo wins me over.

Because a lot of vocal Founders wanted the ability to customize the paint job further. What have we done?!?

There we go with the "Be careful what you wish for" mantra.

I hope you remembered to include in your request/demand "we still want to keep the default founders colors on it".. but I don't think that was the overall message (last I recall anyways).

It doesn't look that different; the main thing is they removed the "frosted snow" look and replaced it with a weathered/worn paint look of an older mech.

You should take a screenshot of the redo and compare both of your screenshots with your screen that much darker than mine. My gamma and brightness are cranked in my screenshots and I also had sweetFX on. So comparing mine to yours aren't similar results.

This one has a bit darker effect, and just a smidge of purple...You're right, it is grimy. BECAUSE IT JUST GOT BACK FROM A BATTLE FOR GERANIUMS ON SOME GOD-FORSAKEN MECH HOLE OF AN ASTEROID

It seems the scale may have changed, as I haven't changed their sizes.
Otherwise, the one on the right appears to have snow (as they all do in the original inception paintjob) and around the ankles a combination of dirt and snow stains the mech.
The one on the left appears to have dirt and mud on it, especially along the lower legs. The face may have more dirt / mud, but it could also be laser burns. The blue is darker and akin to Cobalt. The patterns have very slight differences and the stripes appear to have worn with time.

The new one has a fourth color, black, which is unchangeable (much like woodland pattern for BJ1-X). The old one has 3 colors, only 1 can be changed.

In anticipation of the next change:

See the snow "pitter-patter" on the mech? That's one the main things that disappeared which is good -- that snow doesn't fit when you're on Caustic or Tourmaline.

You increased your FOV, which makes things in the distance smaller - it affects your mechlab view as well.

On the note of snow in the right side, it looks more like dry dust like it would on the side of a dirty car.
In regards to the left and current image. I'm not sure which dirt and mud you look at, but I've never seen black or grey mud. Looks a lot more like it blasted through a burning building at 150kph and got hit by every piece of coal and soot.
It's a huge difference. Also a huge difference between being covered in ashes (left/current), VS rust spots and unpainted metal (preferred. brown/red blotches, shiny exposed metal, but not polished to make a mirror finish), VS scratched and pitted paint with dirt (right/old)

Edit: I see your edit of the above post. What I'm getting from it is that it seems like you're looking forward to a working camo, rather than a paint job? I'm kind of different with how I'm looking at it. I just see the same camo from the old founders, they took an eraser too it, and make it expose the dark grey primer underneath. The mech will always basically be dark unless you use bright colours. I liked the old founders because when you saw a founder's mech on the field it was recognizable as a founder's mech - and I thought that was the whole point and not about being practical. Now it's not recognizable on any degree and looks like just a grey jenner with some colour here and there. :) The extensive wear on the paint job isn't enough to give that distinctive Founders flare, even when you are using a bright colour.
