Well this is really the first real problems I've had since I started playing. The game doesn't really freeze or crash on me, it's now just utterly unplayable.

Maybe I should expand on unplayable....
The Game launches
I can sign in
I can select mechs
I can cusomize mech's
I can join matches
I can "technically" play

I can't turn at any reasonable speed or my view ends up outside the entire freaking mech. I.e. I'm floating 3 feet outside the cockpit.
None of my moment is smooth. It's jerky and I can't aim for anything. I'm lucky to get 60 damage in a match and I'm prone to getting in the way of my team as I can't control my mech properly.
This makes the game unplayable. I played 3 matches like this since that patch and gave up. I'm not wasting my time on something I'm not enjoying.

On top of this now, I'm losing out on my premium time I currently have activated. I'm also concerned that if this isn't fixed for me, that my pre-order of the phoenix project package was a waste of my money.

Nvidia GTS 450 with latest drivers
16GB RAM
i5 quad core processor

Tried low, medium and high graphics, none made a difference.

Sure this probably isn't as bad as some people's issues posted but this is for performance feedback and performance is now an issue for me.

Derp... I posted this on the wrong thread...

With this patch, all my game freezes are gone. Whatever you changed, it helped me a lot.
I had quite a lot freezes ingame, about every 4th game the program had to be killed with the task manager.

Had 50+ games with this version without 1 freeze during a game or the Mechlab freezing on exit...

EDIT: Now, after ~100 games, I had 1 freeze during a game. Still, nowhere near as bad as it was before this patch.

After the latest patch I am getting a freeze in-game after approximately 20-30 secs of entering a match. It can reliably be replicated when I group up with certain players. The Omicron logs reports an a runaway thread error. Alt-Tab doesn't correct the issue.

I have tried using the Repair Tool and lowering my settings to no avail.

I and virtually everyone who PUG's on NGNG have been getting freezes.

About 75%-80% of the time, Alt-Tabbing or hitting Ctrl-Alt-Del and launching task manager will fix the issue and allow the game to "un-freeze" - Hopefully with your mech not destroyed. The remaining 20%- 25% the game will not unfreeze and will require you to kill the process.

Happens to me maybe once every 30(+/-10) matches or so. Does not seem to have any commonalities at all as far as map, mech, graphics, etc.

I dumped the process memory to disk the last couple times it failed to unfreeze, on the off chance someone actually wants to look at the huge core file.

Dude, reinstall. C'mon, seriously.

You can also try clearing your cache but when I start floating outside my mech I think it'd be safer to just delete everything and then reinstall.

I took a break for awhile but I have to say, the last two patches have been rock solid stable for me. Not a single crash or lockup.

I've noticed often when the game crashes, my Shaders folder is bigger than normal. Usually, it hovers around 4MB worth of data... but when the game crashes, it is often @ 5+ MB worth of data. I haven't looked into this thoroughly, but there's a chance that junk data is being fed there, possibly causing the "fread" issues.

I think something eventually goes wrong with the data extraction code... whether it be some sort of optimization or bad dump. It should not be the reason that causes the game to crash.

This might mesh with what alexei karnov and I have noticed. These crashes tend to happen right near the start of a match before you gain control of your mech. For me it has happened twice with the player list still partially visible as it fades out.

Crashed today for the first time in months. was piloting an Ilya Muromets. I had loaded into river city night. While the help messages were scrolling across the bottom of the screen, I crashed to desktop. I haven't changed any of the settings, it was just a random crash, not really sure what happened.

I can't even get this game to load at all. After I double click on the desktop icon, I launch the patcher, I hit play, and windows asks if I want to have two of the same process running. I say yes, and it launches as normal.
Program then goes to the connecting screen, and just poops the bed. There is no connectivity, the network, CPU, and hard disk are all not being used by the application, just 130mb or so of memory. Sits like this for as long as I have patience (say 30 min or more) and then I try again. I have re-booted the computer multiple times, which got rid of this problem after one of your previous patches, but did not work this time.
This is incredibly frusterating. I just bought MC, pre-ordered the pheonix program mechs, and got premium time that I am now losing because I can't even access the game. (don't get me started on not being able to hit "stop" for premium time) Can't say in words how unhappy I am with this game right now. I sincerely hope that you thoroughly test your next "patch" before you release it to the public, realizing that there are people out there paying their hard earned for your product and you are border-line stealing their money by not allowing them to access it.

My game is STILL freezing at random times. Sometimes from start up, to mid battle to end screen. Re-installed, tried the tool and nothing. This is like 3 months and no fix. Please do something about this. Has PGI addressed this at all?

It´s bad, really really bad. Many crashes and many sudden "from 60 to 9 fps and stay there for the rest off the game" incidents. You seem unable to fix this. AND IT IS WORSE NOW!

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEEEAASE do something about this or this game will never take off.

I freshly installed Windows 7, fresh install of all Mobo/NVidia/CPU/Service packs and it STILL does not work.

Well I've put money into this game. I don't care if there are connection problems. None of my other games aren't working.

Hoping maybe someday the game is litterally playable.

This happened to me as well. Take a look in advanced video setting and turn down texturing to low or medium, could solve your problem.

Deelawn, just curious, but where are you generally located and who is your ISP? Some of us on the West Coast have been seeing packet loss after Comcast hands off the signal to Tata, between San Jose and Toronto. Trying to get that resolved has not been fun, as Tata nor Comcast will talk to me as I am not a direct customer, so my ISP who leases from Comcast would have to follow up on the issue. It sounds like Comcast does not lease enough bandwidth from Tata to accomodate the traffic between its customers and other non-peering networks...it's all about the money and squeezing out the competition.

Actually I'm on the east coast in north carolina. I also have unusually low ping. It's never above 100 when I'm on MWO.

I took a break from MWO for like a month and now it's like basically not working anymore ;)

STILL NOTE: Training grounds works beautifully, no problems running the actual game

Same for me, I normally have low ping and training ground works great, but I get DC'd from matches most of the time now, in the last few weeks since all the kids got out of school. New York is another of Tata's most congested hubs, so perhaps you should trace your route and see if it goes thru one of their servers in NY...the address extension should end in as6453.net.

Now crashing on a regular basis, particularly in the canyon map during assault. I am getting random flashes of pixels instead of terrain in small patches as I run around in a jenner. I have tried the repair tool but it did not help. Below is my 64bit dxdiag file. Sorry can't see how to attach a file to this.

This seems to be an isolated incident, possibly not even related to the game, but I recently had my game's graphics freeze completely. The game itself continued, and by the audio I could tell when I died (though I forgot to check if my inputs were still being registered). I had to alt+F4 to exit, which did work.

Full details of the events leading up to the freeze:

Out of 5 last battles 3 have crashed, aargh! The game just freezes and I have to kill it by task manager.

Omicron.log below, hope it helps.
