Once again PGI sucks at scaling

not only is the victor a very skinny mech (built like a centurion)

it is the height of a cataphract, and takes up a lot less space

a quickdraw makes the victor look like a medium

I mean, I'll definitely be buying 3 victors when they release for Cbills

but im sick of this

size is a HUGE balance consideration they keep ignoring

where is the quality control!

It means more people will buy the Dragon Slayer to enjoy the small size. Working as intended™.

Yea, how hard is it to actually make the mechs the sizes they are supposed to be? I mean, is PGI even looking at the mechs prior to implementing them?

Do you prefer speed or power? The Victor can mount a 400 engine, the Highlander has more tonnage to play around with...

Looks like the Highlander will be better at being slow and full of guns, while the Victor will be better at maneuverability and speed.

Do you want to play a jumping atlas, or an 80ton Cataphract 3D?

The scaling of certain lighter mechs to be larger than heavier brethren appears to be intended by PGI and is not an oversight on their part. This is apparent to me with the implementation of the new archetypes.

HAHA, is this for serious? An 80 ton Assault Mech in the size of a Heavy. The Awesome just got a whole lot more dead, the final Nail in The Coffin.

PGI, just why.

Wellp, guess it's time to sell the ol' Awesomes.

Thanks for nothing.

IMO this question isn't anwerable until you tell us for which situation you intend to use that mech. If you run in a premade team there will be roles for both mechs to fill. If you run in a PUG with completely random team mates the Highlander will dominate his opponents, but the Victor can get out of harms way.

In other words: If you can rely on your team mates the highlander will more often be the stronger mech. If you have to live up to your own the Victor will give you more options to choose battles.

Personally this isn't how I would make the decision. To me the Victor is the lesser of the two ugly mechs. The highlander is to me by far the ugliest mech in the game so far. The victors helmet may be ugly, but the highlander looks as if he had a stick in his *** (due to the jumpjets in his back making him look like he was bent over a toilet).

Yup, I'm going to get a Victor and mount 3 PPC's on it and pretend its the original Skinny Battle Tech Awesome.

Honestly since all the ballistics were moved to a single location instead of being split-location, the Victor is more likely to join the Awesome in the trash pile than replace it, at this point.

Victors might be fun/usable in organized Conquest, but that's also what we thought about the 9M once.

The factory that made Victors were captured by the Draconis Combine. Highlanders are more of a Capellan design(or capellan march..)

Awesome was always drawn pretty fat looking. Maybe a little skinnier in the legs.

That doesnt excuse the fact that it's a washer machine that is just a larger, weaker Stalker.

Also I am not sure what all this Awesome bashing is all about, I run some custom Awesome variants with extreme success. It may not dish out as much as a highlander/atlas but other mechs dont do that either. Tonnage equality is not part of Battletech.

None of the available victors had split-location ballistics. They all had actuators removed to accomodate the AC20s

Where are people seeing in-game shots of the Victor? I've only seen the concept art (which can't be relied upon for scaling, see the Centurion)
