Has anyone else had major hit detection issues with ER PPCs since the last patch? Myself and several others are.

I couldn't tell you, I've never hit anything with them.

Or you hit and cause no damage at optimal ranges

ERPPCs are still doing ok for me.

Lasers are still FUBAR for me, though.

I've found I hit something with PPCs, i see an explosion on them but no red indication to tell me i've damaged them and their paper doll doesn't light up either but they shoot me for full damage and they're using the same weapons.

Yup, thats a perfect example. I hope this is addressed. Ever since they did that server/ping fix a few weeks ago, things have been wonky and the last patch made it worse

Before this patch i had done around 600 to 700 damage on my Phracts. Now i´m doing only 300 to 400. Yes i think something is wrong with the hit detection.

Same here. My 3x erPPC Awesome scores have gone from 5-700 down to 2-300 post patch. Also, I just alpha struck a fresh Yen Lo @ 300m, and it turned his head and arms yellow? Did they nerf convergence too?

I am sure those that constantly cry about ppcs are happy about it. I for one am not. Hopefully they will do something about it.

Ditto. It's happening with other weapons too, but projectiles are the easiest to tell with, since you get the impact effects without dealing damage.

Most often seeing this against targets with 300+ ping, where even against nearly non-moving targets I'll get no damage, though against faster targets I'm seeing it happen as low as 150ms. I recall some of their netcode changes a while back kinda broke HSR, so I'm guessing it's either still not fixed, or something they did for it this patch may even have backfired.

Word here, the only reason it is harder to notice this on Lasers is the fact that the recticle turns red even if you only did 0,1 damage instead of 9.

At some point they broke HSR, so most of the time it simply doesn't work, but the most irritating problem is the inconsistence, without HSR players have to compensate for their own ping only. The current situation is that the hitboxes often depend on some unknown factor aswell, maybe the half-working HSR or some other issue so one cannot simply compensate for his/her own ping as each enemy Mech has a slightly or not so slightly different hitbox offset from the image seen.

After the last patch it is only a bit worse than before.

Actually it seems to be something about convergence, since I noticed that I only have those hit problems with ARM mounted PPCs. The problem exists though. Arm PPCs shoot anywhere - and ppcs probably in general have extreme hit detection problems. "Hit" a not moving Raven from ~120 meters while I myself wasn't moving either and had lot's of time to aim (ppc raven, long shutdown) - shot him with 2x 2PPC+Gauss - and he turned yellow. Yeah.

I think it's mainly an HSR problem. My ACs and LRMs are having hit detection issues as well as my PPCs.

haven't had much of an issue shooting mechs with ppcs/er ppcs but the animations on them are a bit wonky atm, half the time they start halfway between the mech firing and the target.

PGI have acknowledged that there is a problem with HSR and ping jitter. There were at least three threads in the previous patch notes about this. It mostly affects high ping players or players with jittery internet routers somewhere between them and the MWO servers.

My damage, as a high ping player, has plummeted over the last two patches. No damage, greatly reduced damage, or damaging areas that weren't visually hit. The effect varies randomly.

Speaking of ping, though off topic. Did anyone else have their ping go open after there little ping fix? I went from 80-85 to 100-110. Thought it was rather odd

come on squidy its (damn) :D

I just hate having issues with one of the most effective weapon systems that is in game at this time. Over used or not.

When I see the projectile hit the mech, shoot sparks out and whatnot... is it too much to ask that it registers damage?
