No, we're not. All of us veteran players are quite adept at map monkeying up hills even now, stupid as it is we have to do so. I can take any position I've ever had still, it's just some hoops to get there.
This system had the possibility to give mediums and such a massive edge - darting around the hills on Forest Colony in a manner way faster than slow assaults would be a great way to give the whole class a huge shot in the arm. Instead we have a bunch of invisible walls that the uninformed keep voting to keep because they think it'll somehow help them from getting murdered. (It won't.)
I'm still curious what this "over 30's" thing you keep bringing up is. Are you seriously suggesting that anyone over 30 can't understand game balance? I mean.. I think that's what you're saying, but if it is, holy crap. Your problems go way deeper than MechWarrior.
Or you're just a kid going through a 70s phase and finding out about the "Don't like trust anyone over 30, man!" line.
over 30's (in this community not all) like old people can’t adapt and overcome and are set in there ways. Again this is not TT. If you want to relive your TT days go on craigslist and set up a weakly TT game.
If a heavy can’t go over some things..... GOOD! Adapt and overcome like a real evolving person in a modern gaming world.
When you people type all I hear is the old guy sitting on his porch yelling at the kids to get off his side of the sidewalk and use the other one because they are interrupting you nap as you stare at the green grass you love and can’t take with you.

WHen they cut out before i finish my jump, yeah guess I need to learn when to use them and not have them cut out! Great suggestion! The result on a slop in canyon where everyone uses but I try a side and getting stuck is me not the map.

Is this your preemptive "oh so intelligent" reply to being called a noob kid? I'm guessing you're a kid because, really? This might take the new record for the dumbest catchphrase on not only MW:O, but the entire game.

You know what ? Screw people who want a 1:1 TT conversion. Labeling them everyone over 30 is the single dumbest thing ever, kid.
Because a lot of us have spent over a decade playing MechWarrior games and understand it is a different environment. More importantly, we've seen almost everything that has both worked and did not work in that time, including weapon balance in a sim environment.
Almost all of the problems with MW:O could have been avoided by taking that experience.

And all I'm hearing here is an annoying teenager that is going through the "I think I'm so damn clever!" phase with no interest in hearing experience or considering the possibility that only a small minority of people of different ages want TT 1:1 conversions.
Go write in your livejournal about how life is so unfair and how awesome you are or something, kid.
PS: You think we should evolve yet you are apparently proud to drive a 4X Raven. lol

This way, in the OP example, the mech would stop at the edge, then regain a bit of speed to contine its momentum because the slope angle is less steep.
That need to feel a realistic behavior of a machine climbing : when the slope is too steep, it stops after a while struggling, but as soon as the slope become softer, the movement must restart again slowly.

This alone proves you are 2 old for this game. It’s about fun. No matter what you pilot. The 4x is AWESOME and the most fun mech for me. But YOU go to e6 on alpine every time, the crater in the center of caustic. Your mindset is in stone and there is no room for growth. And if anyone wants it diffrently you drop a bantha poodoo in your depends.
Can’t fill a cup that is already full grasshoppa.

I'd comment on how you make a lot of assumptions, but really, the things you are too dumb to be real.
I'm going to guess you are a well done gimmick/trolling account, probably an operative with everyone's favorite organization of trolling accounts. Masterful job at it. You really have a fresh way to annoy people on the internet.

Initial Speed and mass should be considered for a slowdown effect over time, and not an instant stop.

See, I understood when you said "I don't care if it sucks I like it." But now you're trying to say it's a good 'mech. If you aren't a troll, you are very, very dumb. Mostly for your stupid "over 30" catchphrase, though.
Still banking on troll though. I bet most of the angry responses you get end up on another message board for hilarity. You had me going for a while but I simply cannot believe anyone is that flat out idiotic and still able to form a coherent sentence.
As a troll though, you're pretty funny.

I don't drive lights but you're more than welcome to face one of my mediums, or one of my pilots in a Raven on Raven fight. As long as we can video record it.
