Just noticed this earlier.

Damage goes straight to CT if you shoot between the armor plates on the rear.

Not too uncommon, at least that's less of an issue than all the mechs where shooting between the hip joints from behind goes to front armor.

I was under the impression that was intentional...

I dunno, I think it's kinda stupid that you shoot a mech in the back and take their front armor off, regardless of where your weapons are hitting.
If it's intentional then someone has very different ideas than I.

Just imagine that the force of the blast is transferred to the front :).

Its like when you have two pool balls touching each other, and then hit one of them with a third ball...

the centurion's "waist" circular gear looking thing doesn't seem to have a hitbox. so it goes through and hits the bottom of the front torso.

Except it's ablative armor, the impact is diffused by removing the material.

you test the waist gap out on any other mechs?

Since several are just "floating" I wonder if it's on more than the Centy?

Either way it's bad juju,

Nice catch, that most certainly won't be intended behaviour. I wonder if they can fix it by extending the circular "skirt" a bit, or at least the hitbox of the rear CT.

There's a similar issue with the Jenner having some front CT armour hittable on the rear. It's actually possible to hit some rear armour locations from the front too.

You can do this to the catapult as well. I've seen people intentionally shooting the waist spot as a spectator, although its probably hard to hit unless you're a shorter mech like a Jenner or on lower ground.

And once in a Raven I got shot from the front and it killed me by destroying rear armor and internals. Front armor intact.
If its meant to be this way I'm cool with it, but I get the feeling it isn't an intentional weak spot.

All mechs feature parts of the front CT armor in areas along the sides, top, bottom, and sometimes even rear of the mech. The spoiler on top of the Jagermech is CT from all parts of the object. I think this s fine when you are hitting a specific component of the mech which doesn't make sense for it to have seperate back/front armor.

That spot on the Centurion is a big joint between the lower torso and upper torso, and it's one solid piece all around.
