Hey all,

I had a little trouble finding a good place that lists all the HUD target icons for various gameplay elements (ECM, NARC, TAG). However, I am still unsure what one of them is. I have only seen it a few times. It looks like three marks or three curved lines over enemy mechs. Anyone have a clue what I'm talking about? Maybe I'm completely wrong and I didn't actually see it. . .

I will try to get a screenshot later today.

Any help would be great. Thanks!

Yeah, that means that the target has Missiles Incoming via a Target Lock.

I think that was a NARC-marked mech.

No NARC icon is a dot with curved signal lines. And TAG is a square cross-hair reticle.

Ok, I either miss the point or I haven't seen this one at all. So far I have seen:

- 3 missiles pointing down = currently under missile fire
- a dot with 3 curved lines going outwards up = NARC-marked
- a recticle = TAG marked

Did you mean one of those 3 or did I really never see the one you described before??
Screenshot maybe?

Gosh, I should play more again

Nope you are correct! It was the three missiles icon! Sorry for the poor description!

I have played at least a few times a week since the middle of closed beta. I didn't know the "radio waves" were the NARC while the "Lucas Arts eyelashes" were the incoming missiles.

Thanks for the community service.

Is there a visual guide to hud icons? I've seen targets sometimes have letters. I know i've seen D, seems like i've seen an A and B also. Any idea what that is?

Letters hovering over a mech is actually for target designations... I'm not sure if there's an order (it might actually be in the order they are listed in the Tab-scoreboard), but they aren't very obvious to me.

When in doubt, just shoot the red ones again to be sure.

Every enemy target will have a letter designator (A-H currently, presumably A-L when 12 man teams are implemented). The letters are assigned in the order that anyone on your team targets them, i.e. the first enemy mech to be targeted by some one on your team gets designated A, the second B, etc. These letter assignments stick for the rest of the match even if the target is lost and then reacquired.

Groups using voice comms often use these designators to coordinate fire on a target.

And you sometimes find people in text chat using them as well.. if you see something like "everyone on D" pop up, it means someone from your team has either noticed a 'dangerous' mech or just wants to clear something for various reasons (light causing problems, loner that can be burned down, etc etc).

Once upon a time, I was spectating another player and there was a white X or cross on the right side of their HUD (in the "status bar" where you normally see icons that indicate your mech is affected by ECM). Anybody know what the white X or cross means?

Sounds like I need to take screenshots of icons and add them to a vid / thread.

I'm thinking that could be UAV, Artillery, or Airstrike; all 3 get X's when you use them.

And it's not the "ECM disabled" indicator?

If not, I believe that UAV, Arty and AS get crossed out after they're used.

order is game designated...first target seen by team or you is A, second B and so on
