all I have to say is suckers.
You were warn that many months ago. CW was not going to be in launch.
Warn that they were going to do another money grab, here is Phoenix.
Then the lovers of Pgi {fanboi s} ,call all us bitter this or you are angry that.
And here come Russ finally admitting CW is next year after getting your Phoenix money.

All I can do is laugh.

Why do you think there has been zero updates on Community Warfare since Dec 7, 2011 4:00 PM UTC. CW is supposed to be huge and complex, and a ton of fun, and they've given zero info on it since(except tiny snippets here/there). We'll get 2.0 this year, and some basic stepping stones to CW, but we wont have CW, which just depresses me. It's the reason why a lot of have stuck around, just waiting.

I dont want to start a flame war, but WoT beta came with CW, we've seen new mechs, but not a lot of content since we went OB.

EDIT: Sorry it was Russ, listen for yourself.

This is now my third time listening to that pod cast. At no point does he say that CW won't go in until next year. What he does say is that CW will be in phases, and to expect the first elements of CW to go in this Fall.

Now personally I don't expect that to be at the beginning of fall, which is Sept. 21st. Fall ends however on December 20th, so we will see at least the first phase of CW this year.

Guys remember we did not hear a shred of info on the movement fixes till they were nearly out. Perhaps PGI has gotten a bit smarter when it comes to what they tell us. I think they learned from closed beta to not tell everything. The constant setbacks and failed promises really upset fans. So now they keep us hooked with a dribble of content while they work on the big stuff. The fast release of the Quickdraw and movement backs this thought up. I know they have not been the best in the world but they are not dumb. They would not "launch" the game without something big to back it up. Lets give it time before we bust out the torches and pitchforks.

Now that is a different statement. PGI needs to clarify.

I've just listened through again and Russ says CW feature phases are "solid 2013 features"

Oh well, this is my last post to this forum. Uninstalling tonight. Been fun guys.

Well PGI look what happens when you don't inform your player base. We need a community warfare command chair post as soon as you can. This is getting stupid. We're so in the dark that we react to the smallest information. It's okay to put a disclaimer "subject to change" on it as long as we have a solid idea of what you want to do.

Yes we'll get phase #1 where we will get merc tags/join factions. We'll get very basic stepping stones in the "Fall" but actual full blown REAL CW will be next year as he states in the podcast. I hope that i'm wrong, but with the lack of any update since Dec 7, 2011 4:00 PM UTC.

Do you honestly think it'll just pop up. Isn't it a bit scary, no real update since DECEMBER 2011? I hope i'm wrong, but right now everything points in the other direction.

The last podcast was said to be before end 2013 but after launch.

CW may be delayed, but don't just make up bad **** - reality of their delays is bad enough.

Here's the facts:
--CW is dependent on UI 2.0 release ~24:30 min mark in Russ NGNG podcast
--UI 2.0 is scheduled for a September release (test server in August) -4 min mark in June 20th Bryan NGNG podcast
--CW Phase 1 in fall ~28:30 on Russ's podcast

Thats all they've said on NGNG. Takeaway? UI 2.0 is behind schedule, once thats out around launch, then CW can come out soon after in phases.

http://www.nogutsnog...et/podcasts.php

Just listened to the relevant portion of the podcast and want to share the highlights with those who aren't able to listen.

Russ states that it's possible clan mechs will be introduced similarly to the project Phoenix program "We've thought about it. We don't know for sure. There is a reasonable chance. We have a process now right? We did it with founders, we did it with Phoenix. It's a great way for the community to say 'we want a top notch mechwarrior product'...it's feasible. Right now, there is no plan cooking, brewing."

Clans will be worked on after all other major features are completed. "We've got our plates so full, to get this game launched. To get these major features that we are launching in 2013. Clans are not the priority. Once we get those major features done, clans are the next major thing.

The 1:1 timeline in the universe is dead as far as Russ is concerned in terms of setting deadlines for features to be done. "My opinion is, the timeline was interesting at first, was kind of cool, but it's not a driving factor anymore. Its not a very important aspect. Its more important to have a quality game"

Russ admitted that CW can't be worked on fully until UI 2.0 is finished "Community warfare is heavily reliant on UI 2.0. If you think about all the things we are going to be doing with factions, and everything else - it's one thing to spend all the time building those into a user interface that we have currently that is going to be completely rewritten or is incapable of doing it properly...so it's added some extra time before we can get these features into people's hands. But we are just trying to do everything the right way."

12v12 should be out within 30 days "All I can say for sure is it looks like 12v12 will hit in July. We are within a week of public testing. We should be testing it internally tomorrow. ...We are within 30 days or so, maximum, of getting that into public hands.

UI 2.0 hopefully before launch (Late August, Early September) "Really trying to get that out before our late summer launch."

CW will come out in phases and more depth will be added as they go along "Community is definitely going to come out in phases. It would be best to let Bryan speak to it, because I can't speak to it as well as he can. It's going to come out in several phases so you will have stuff this fall for sure, and then more depth will be added."

Exactly.

Actually the first phase is selecting your faction. Nothing more.

Every developer would like to have an infinite budget and just do stuff in their own time ("it's ready when it's ready") so that the game is as good as it could possibly be.

Unfortunately they live in the real world, where bills must be paid and publishers appeased.

IGP have set this date and Piranha have to work for it.

We will get some new stuff on launch (think menu music) but whether they get UI 2.0 or CW in is another matter entirely.

For those of us who play this game everyday anyway it will be basically business as usual.

This is not necessarily a bad thing, we are here because we love the game right?

Whether the stuff we wants comes on some made up arbitrary date or a month later; what the hell difference does it make?

An if you really hate the game that much, well just **ck off.

They have officially stated that Phase 1 of Community Warfare doesnt actually have any community warfare and is just faction joining, badges and merc unit formation but no game modes or anything which apparently come in later phases.

If CW Phase 1 is around the time of Phoenix deal in october the Phase 2+ wont be this year. Hmm will probably be around the time the 120 day phoenix premium time runs out? :)

2014 for sure (hopefully)

Sorry to be the ******* of the thread PGI, but ive come to not trust any of your release dates, if this takes longer I understand, but from past experiences I still have my doubts of the release date being accurate.

I personally agree to wait, quality takes time and they are not super huge studio to pop games like tarts every year like some do.
Besides there are plenty of games that came out with rotten basement and struggled because of it, I defiantly don't want to see MWO one of them.

There is no problem in holding that release date. Bring out a patch that sets the version to 1.0 and call it launched instead of beta. They could do that tomorrow and there would be no difference.

Phaes 1 might as well be just clan tags. Also this very likely means we won't get territory control since that sounds like something that wouldn't be in phase 1.

Launching without the features that actually would make this a FUN game sounds like a grand idea!
