"less than 60 days" was the quote in Match for 12v12 so I am to believe the "less than 30 days"???

Yeah good luck on working towards the release date!! :-)

And for the whiners, it is just a date where the minimal amount of functionality will be implemented/available
The game will still be improved, tweaked, patched,
When Facebook was released, it was also a very slim version of the current website.

The game is improving/expanding with each patch, maybe slower than some people would like to see, but you can play the game free of charge, and when you don't like the way the game is going, don't play or come back at a later moment, or if you like it support it with MC.

-i don't now why I am writing this, because I will know that a lot of people will just keep on whining, complaining, etc about the current imbalance, alpha meta, etc. And will never be happy until the game is completely finished and polished, but it is a good thing that a lot of features are going to be released in the future-

As you may have read, we're extremely excited to announce MechWarrior Online's official Launch date of September 17th, 2013! We've been working hard these past months, and we're extremely excited to be able to publicly announce our launch date!

That's great.

Now, exactly what does that mean to us?

What does launch mean? I mean, if no UI2 and no CW, then what exactly will change versus our current "beta"? Nothing that's what.

I've been patiently waiting for the main part of this game to come into play (CW), but now it appears it won't come until next year some time. I've been a die hard BT/MW fan since my TT days and have played every videogame/board game offered for the genre and honestly this game has let me down big time. With none of the main features offered this game is still just WoM and not even that. I know the developers can't steel all the ideas from past games but the foundation has all been done. I really thought (because they basicly told us) that this game would be a cross between Star Wars, Star Trek and some Heroes and Generals online. This game was full of promises and under-delivered and I will not be spending another dime on it despite me wanting to purchase the unseen mechs. The developers should have stayed silent and had more of the game ready before even closed beta came into play.

Launching this game in September will effectively kill any chance of real success. Getting the coverage in the press (including those all-important reviews), being a featured title in Steam, etc, is a one time deal. If PGI do this, the game is going to absolutely bomb. The press will rip it apart for being a mech giftshop with no actual game.

I am now hopeful that at least a rudimentary CW will appear in the late August or early September patches. To release without that would be madness.

From the article:

"...the original board-game was way to [sic] complicated and not fun.....&quot

"MechWarrior is too complicated and not fun. Let's make it PPC on-line, that way it will be FUN."

Morons.

Well, I was about 12 or 13 when I first played the Battletech boardgame and I thought the game was great and the level of detail made it interesting. I do not consider myself a genius, but I do not think that the game was too difficult. Maybe the author of the article had ADD and did not have the patience to learn the rules?

I expect lots of hotfixes and people refusing to accept that we're still in beta from now on through to September 16.

*raises QQ shields and continues to enjoy the gameplay*

PPCs fired since April: 954,769,748,927,673 for 1 TRILLION DAMAGE

MG bullets fired since June 2012: 999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 for.... 850 total damage

try out A Realm Reborn. It's pretty good.

This game is gonna need its own Inner Sphere Reborn pretty soon.... hey maybe that's why they call it Project Phoenix?

The developers let me down by setting this game in 3050 instead of 3015 (actually, if they had set this game exactly 1000 years ahead of present time, they could keep up with a day/day timeframe and still not have to worry about conflicting with 'canon' events like the vatbaby invasion, and even more easily been able to support a player-driven 'reboot').

It doesn't stop me from enjoying the game though.

And I have... my problem is poeple who want to complain and whine about this or that not being the way they expect it and saying I'm quitting the game, or I'm leaving, or this is my last post... good bye, good riddance and dont let the door hit you on the way out

I have to say that im sure a little bit disappointed BUT I do enjoy the game we have and will still continue to play it and watch it improve given time.
All this game needs is more time and it will become the game I and hopefully most of us want.

Cheers

I suppose it's a total disconnect for me when I think about it that there will be no community warfare for launch, collisions have been postponed til after launch (which is a biggie for beta testing), we still dont have even rudimentary command wheel emotes / callouts or even a 'ping' feature.

Plus UI 2.0 will surely need some time to iron out and get straight. Likewise 3PV

It just seems to me that literally everything has simply been pushed over the line to 'sometime after launch' to the point that the game is going to launch with essentially the same feature set that we began with in Open Beta.

Couple this with possibly the very worst 'new player experience' ever and it's concerning to say the least.

What I also really dont understand at all is how project management can be so bad and borked for so long. Usually when you identify there is a problem with project management (ballpark: around the time of open beta starting a year ago) then you take corrective action, you dont continue as before for another year and beyond. They can only get away with it due to the incestuous nature of the PGi / IGP developer / publisher relationship. In the real world this kind of a consistent failure to meet your own milestones or deliver cant go unchecked.

I, like most in my guild, will remain foolishly optomistic. I am not giving them anymore of my money, cause I dont think that they have delivered for the prices they post. With the numbers they have they should be able to hire another developer or SOMETHING to help them push stuff outt faster and give the game a little more substance.
