Seriously? Was that yesterday? Then what exactly will be in at launch? How do you launch the game without the metagame?

If there is no CW at launch my pocket book is officially closed until it comes in. Project Phoenix is your last cash infusion from me since I already bought it.

PGI launches Phoenix Packs and get labeled as money grabbers... SC sells the name of a star for 5000!!!!!! US dollars and they are awesome.
I know the minimum pledge pack is $35, but some of these packs are utterly ridiculous.

Don't get me wrong... I will get one of the cheaper packs, but it's interesting to see the difference of opinion of the two games from the fans. I guess it all comes down to PGI's poor communication and poor handling of the hardcore faction. Oh well... still waiting for the July CDU.

What would you rather? Give a developer $500 with a solid track record, honest communication and ZERO publisher, or a company that has a publisher who took 80% of the money from the founders package and it put it into other games, and slowed down the development of MWO? If MWO was 100% crowd sourced like SC, we would have a very different game.

Do you have any evidence to back up that 80% into other games statement?

By the way, I would never pay 500 for any game (which is the minimum wage in my country), let alone 5000 to name a star.

I am extremely unhappy to announce that launch will probably require a launch patch shortly after.

Does this article seem eerily familiar?

Its an article on some crowd funded games.

I do, but I'm not at liberty to speak about it. What I can say there also was a gaming news site that posted the gist of it a while ago, plus Russ stated in the last NGNG podcast that 100% of the unseen pack would go into development. You can read in between the lines there. Whether you choose to believe me or not I don't really care either way.

And I only spent $60 on SC, i have friends who's spent $500. Some people have a lot of disposable income some dont. At least with $60 i get a full single player campaign, ingame currency and a snazzy ship. Spending $120 on MWO i got 4 variants and some MC, and 2 of those mechs are completely useless.

If there was more faith in PGI, i know a lot of people who would but a ton of money into MWO, but PGI or IGP has told us we aren't there target market.

MWO will live or die by there community PGI is counting on the casual new player to carry the game not the old BT/MechWarrior/MechAssault/MechFan community that has supported MechWarrior for 20+ years. Most of the older gamers have donated to PGI and MWO for what they though was going to be a better MechWarrior 4 Mercenaries game with all the Private matches, leagues, live open chat rooms ,game launchers and even a small single player campaign for BT/MechWarrior lore. PGI has made a shallow boring game in some ways they have achieved a lot as in map design and graphics, Mech design and graphics and really that's about it. The core game is a grind to nowhere and loses its appeal very quickly this will not retain the old community forever and Shure as heck will not attract and hold new players for very long. I and many others have suggested ways to fix the game to be a true MechWarrior legend but so far it has paled in comparison to the older more content rich MechWarrior games I can only hope they wake up and fix this game before we have to wait another 10+ years for some one to make a new true BT/MechWarrior AAA game. http://www.bing.com/...=61&FORM=NVPFVR

Yep. U summed it up. It's a great looking game and is fun to play but is so riddled by bugs and poor balance mechanics that they'll need to turn the company on its head to turn this game around.

Virtually every single game nowadays has a paid option to enter into beta type scenario, well, the games I play.
Arma3, flight sims and some other fps. Even EA have promotions where you can get early access to their games.

Happened before MWO, will undoubtedly continue happening.

That was the point I was trying to make.

have zero interest in SC, a space sim. Star Trek Online had space combat which I hated, loved the away missions but can't do space sim. MWO is my game, but I will continue to be critical of PGI's slow content release...

And the free gift to all who participated in the beta is.....?

Suggestions
-A free premium colour of choice

-A commemorative cockpit item

-A commemorative mech skin

- 1 triple clan heatsink!!!

-A module which detects players who have joined after official launch? (Noob Hunter Module)?
