Good find. From the crowd that just doesn't give a **** about 3PV: looks like exactly what I was expecting.

Edit: Clearly, this isn't the final implementation, but I'd be perfectly fine with something like that.

Yup. In the video it looks like the atlas' head might be blocking the crosshairs, so maybe they will have it higher up.

definately pleased with the idea of being able to actually see my mech in game.

That's a crysis 2 viewmode.

What we're getting will be far more useful.

I'm ok with this as long as being in 3rd person disallows the use of your HUD since you are not in the cockpit to use it!

Great. Awaiting the influx of "kiddies" that don't have the skills to pilot a mech without 3pv. Sounds like a fun crowd. I bet the chat is going to be awesome!

That. Is. Bad. Really. Really. Bad.

Sure, no targeting, but lights now can peek before taking a dangerous corner.

The only balancing feature appears to be no HUD. If they keep at least that its almost tolerable, but still a bad idea.

All MW sim games from MW2 onward had 3pv to some degree.

MW2 a fully rotatable external camera

MW3 3-4 locked camara angles behind the mech

MW4 something to the degree of MW3

The Atlas segment in the video? If indeed that is what 3pv turns out to be like (debug version or not) it seems fine if you lose your hud and crosshairs. You get to see your mech all nice and pretty but you will have a darn hard time with aiming except in your face splats.

As if they can't now without being detected. ECM + Seismic=l0ve fest

Not at 400+ range. This will let someone peek across canyon to see what' s up without being in much danger.

they shouldnt get crosshairs either, since that is also a function of the cockpit!

I'd be on board with that, as a 3PV supporter.

I think that is a good compromise.

Can't somebody just use TAG as a mock-crosshair? Or even using a marker and making a dot in the center of their monitor?

Yup, which is why simply no HUD isn't really a good solution.

and this 100%

but you can always take a piece of scotch tape find your center stick it to your pc and mark it with a dot. The tape comes off and leaves no damage. (in case the devs did not think of that)

There needs to be pros and cons to both views. The world is running out of adult diapers.
