Is it worth getting the elite rank by running the 3 variants of a class?
I'm a new player, and I'm really enjoying the game! Thanks to everyone for all of the learning provided and not constantly calling me a n00b, or a FNG...
I've been focusing on the Spider mechs. I love how fast they are and I've become an adept pilot through trial & error, and all of the wonderful posts on these forums. Currently, I've gotten all 8 basic efficiency on the Spider SDR 5D. Love the ER PPC sniper build! I've been working on the SDR 5K, and gotten 3/8, and on the SDR 5V, 2/8. These other two are much less efficient but I've been working towards the elite efficiencies because it sounds good.
I would like the professional opinions from more seasoned pilots.
Thanks in advance for your help!

More serious answer...
With your PPCSpider most notably you will want Elite skills for the Double Basic that it provides. Otherwise other lights will be out turning, twisting, and firing you.
You might as a typical new guy path choose to just Elite one of the variants and then move on to another chassis to work on Master, or not. In any event the handling of an Elite mech is stunningly better than a Basic.

Ideally you would like to Master the mechs that you prefer to use most, otherwise you're simply at a disadvantage.

Master might be a bit much since all you get is an extra Module slot. 2 months into the game and I just bought my first module so... not like there is any reason to rush that.

Speed Tweak looks awesome, as it
a. Gives you more speed with your current Engine.
b. Allows you to downsize your Engine and retain the same speed.

Running an ERPPC spider?
You're doing it wrong...
About the other stuff, yes, you want Elite/Master.
