Title says it yep legging is unbalanced it takes no skill to hit mech when the leg hitboxes are bigger than the torso hit boxes on most mechs. Everyone aims for the legs because its pathetically easy to kill just about anything thats not an assault through the legs. And now with the penalties for loosing legs it really makes the game unbearable when you loos one. Th game was much better before that nurf. now its like Shoot the legs it only takes 1 hit with the high caliber weapons most mechs carry these days. PPCs Gauss hit legs way to easily. Adjusting the hit boxes on the legs specially lights that have no armor need something to offset the fact that if they get hit once in the leg they loose it and there is only so much piloting will do to offset the PPC/Gauss combo since it a 1 hit punch with no wait nor delay while firing so they all go an hit the same item regardless of being different weapons.

well you could jump on the why take anything less then a heavy mech but really legging is not the problem nor is there hit boxes its the high alpha meta thats the problem one lucky hit is all it takes if you think about it im loosing body parts in a single hit all the time now if im not carful about engaging (i pretty much only pilot meds) so i don't feel that legging is the real issue but thats just my opinion im just struggling threw till something is done to drop theas single hit 40 to 60 damage vollys

they wont fix the damage meta they keep adding mech that have even more an more damage potential not less. Yes 1 shot is all it takes so they just line up there 1 shot an kill you all they have to do is hit your leg or torso with a PPC/Gauss boat to kill a light.
Hitboxes are way off for lights you hit them in th back it goes to from you hit then anywhere in the waist of the torso it goes to legs. And the spider hitboxes dont register anything half the time.

iv noticed damage showing up on the front of all of my mechs while taking damage from the back iv even died from it once or twice so im not sure thats a light only issue the leg hit box tho u got me there as i dont play lights nor do i play the heavy and assults that boat the ppc and gauss so i dont see it beign done eather

naw its not a light only issue i'm trying not to pin it on any class it just happens lihghts get molested becaue they cant defend against high alpha boats specially LL boats an PPC boats 1 swipe or 1 hit. and the back registering on front happens on allot of mech like atlas, jenner, i ly lights mostly so i know the qwirks and drawbacks of them more than others.

you have 32 armor + xx internals for leg armor on a 35 ton mech so it'd take at least 2 assault class alpha shots to kill your leg within optimal range.
your legs have MORE armor than any other section on the mech (unless you have zero rear armor), its easier to kill someone by shooting them in the CT than trying to kill a leg. You normally only get legged due to collateral damage building up during the match, not because someone intentionally went after your legs from the get go.

Let me just put it this way. i do have max armor on every mech that light that i run it doe loos the leg to an alpha strike Take a highlander 732 alpha it has an alpha of 10- 10 10 15 = 3 PPC and a Gauss no if you want to go into stalkers they can get up to a 60 alpha or over so a 32 pt armored leg wnt even matter even with internals it still goes flying i know this for a fact it has many times. and people wont even shoot for the CT on a raven o jenner they aim for legs.
I do come from the oldschool MW2 where if you legged in that game you were blackballed and outcasted if you couldnt prove it was an accident . and they game had way more maneuverability even when you lost a leg your jump jet allowed you to move around just fine but thats not the case for this game when you loos e leg your literally screwed a raven cant even turn hardly to face anything

If you get hit by any of those high alphas you mentioned above anywhere you're dead - particularly since 99% of lights have XL's.
It aint a legging problem.

I always shoot for a leg if the mech is kinda fast and the leg looks like it's already damaged. Because not doing so is ridiculous.
The rest of the time it's the fast kill by burning through the center torso.
I whole heartedly support legging in all it's forms.

I always aim for the legs on lights and some medium, for few reason.
Lights have wonky hitbox for torso, damage either register wrongly or don't register at all.
So legs are the best bet on killing them.
Medium, like the Centurion are very good at zombing, plus they like to skim on leg armour AND store ammo there.
with such a great combo, it is hard no to go for dem legs.
P.S. Im primary a medium mech pilot myself.

I noticed spiders seem imune to most fire. I had one go head to head with my atlas and hit him more than once with ac 20 dead center. I know because he was just sitting there. Nothing registered. Then three of us started shooting and he was just sitting there. Nothing registered. Finnaly he killed all three assults and won the match with only part of him yellow. All told I guess he was hit with 300 to 400 damage but not a scratch. He seemed to know it because he wasnt moving much the whole time. Lag sheild? Dunno.
The Trebuchet seems to do the same thing but only sometimes. Had one that acted like it had ecm today. No one could lock on. He was the last one so no hidden ecm around. Wonder if its the game or some new hack appearing.

its part of your mech, put armor on it. now shooting off a mechs leg and both its arms is just pure fun. especially if it has no torso wpns

Yah spiders are verry bad with hit detection i agree on that. ive nailed one with a 2ppc 1 gauss combo he walked away with yellow like it was glancing blow which is bs he should be red or dead with taking that hit from a heavy metal
