No on the similarity, I do like the C&C series, except 4. C&C 4 was made of derp gameplay wise.
As for the Titan and Wolverine, both are positively archaic by Battlemech standards. The Arbiter is about as close to a Titan as 'Mechs go and it is an Industrialmech, not a true Battlemech, though the rail gun upgrade in Kane's Wrath gets it maybe on par with a Hollander... on a bad day for the Hollander. The Golem assault class battle armor is close to the Wolverine. Safe money would be on the Golem in a straight up fight.

Loved Tiberian Sun. My absolute favorite of the series. I wasted so much of my youth playing that game
I know right?
I don't know how long I played it for but I played it ever since I was like 8 XD
I built lasers as walls back in NOD mission 2 - 3 (the one with the broadcast station, getting an engineer in) cause that level didn't allow me to build walls XD.
But yeah good times. Too bad EA ruined the franchise. CNC3 wasn't too bad. But CNC4 was a big kick in the balls to the fans.
NOD artillery was OP pre-firestorm. They are pretty accurate.
Combined with stealth technology and anti-air, NOD has a very impenetrable defense.
I even have a battle saved in skirmish where I fight against all AIs at normal difficulty and field all artilleries and stealth technology. I feel like a dirty *******.

My counter was jump infantry. Jump infantry and Titans everywhere.

NOD doesn't really have good anti-air units unless you talk about defences. I can see GDI's air unit laying waste to NOD if NOD doesn't have stealth tanks but only rocket launchers.
Titans spam is the scariest lol. I use to do that often in campaigns. Nothing but titans. Relatively cheap and in big numbers great for punching through lines. They also have a relatively longer gun range (like taking out a laser tower from a far). Some could say the disruption is the best GDI offense ground unit but the beams are annoying especially if you have it around at base or with a group.
I remember good times when I would play against 3 or 4 different AI's at once, build a massive impenetrable base, then play with those AI foo's like a kitten with a toy mouse.
Anyways, you could probably liken the Wolverine to the 4MG Spider (small Mech, anti-infantry) and the Titan could be like a Misery with PPCs and a Gauss stacked on one side of its body...

Wow, i was not the only one who played Tiberian Sun
There is a vey difficult GDI mission in which NOD use so many chemical missiles that are the envy of the WoB guys..

That one was actually pretty easy as long as you keep your construction yard and refineries intact. Pave your base, and build all your structures on higher levels near the slopes. The gas would drift down into the natural craters and get stuck becoming harmless. Set up a solid base defense of turrets with your mutant reinforcements holding the tiberium fields, bit do not kill the monster until your harvesters start working close to it as it will keep Nod armor attacks to a minimum. Then use Orcas or even jump infantry to find an eliminate the SAMs defending the ridge across the water that are the furthest west. Once you have a hole, send in jump infantry to kill the Tiberium Vein Monsters. Nod won't protect the monsters, just their own units and structures, so you can hit with near impunity. The missile bombardment should stop after 5-8 more strikes, faster if you go after the liquid tiberium refineries, harvesters, and silos with Orcas. From there it is the typical GDI armored ground assault.

I played alot of competitions and ranked matches on Tiberian sun. Nod was the faction 90% of the people chose. I was however, in my clan, a dedicated GDI player. 4 vs 4 we always made the diffrence because i went GDI. People on Nod builded **** tons of artillery, Stealth generators and SAMs. Then they went banshees and devil tongues. And that was it. Many times did i saw people went WTF when i assaulted with over 70 titans, Hover MLRS's, disruptors and more. I moved in, deployed an MCV close to there base. Builded an EMP cannon, launched a volley into there base. Then the assault began, Once the assault was underway, i moved in with orca bombers....Many orca bombers. Aswel as dropping Hover MLRS in the rear with Carry alls and let them hunt down harvesters..
it was difficult, but do-able. As many Nod players were used of building huge bases and defenses, yet rarely see these defenses in action as all Nod players went the same.
I am a huge tiberian sun fan, and GDI was my favorite faction. Titan, wolverine, Mammoth MK 2 and juggernaut!
I guess you can make some simular...titan builds. Take a centurion/victor/highlander and throw an AC20/AC10 on the right arm
I think that's what I'm going to do. Except, the gun barrel should be a lot longer.
I have grown accustomed with 1 arm ballistic mech like the YLW, so it does, IMO, resemble the Titan

Hmm, it has some weird barrels at it's back.
One of the spider variants with all ballistics does resemble like the the Wolverine.

I still do that from time to time.
Cheapest thing to do is to be NOD, mass produce artillery and get stealth defenses with anti-air. The AIs cannot penetrate it.

Nah. Although it does somewhat resemble the Titan in CNC4 with the dual gun upgrade.
(Screw CNC4 btw >_>)

I'm guessing it's the last mission in Firestorm in which you fight against the renegade Cabal? God, that level was difficult!
This music ALWAYS electrify me on that mission. I really like the beginning part of this song.

What mission are we talking about here? Is it something to do with the "escort waste cargo" or something like that?

Same way in C&C3 Kane's wrath. STEEL TALONS RULE!
Indeed. Steel Talons is awesome.
I like both TBH. They have their perks, strengths and weaknesses. But nothing beats a batallion of Titans steam rolling through an enemy base!
Sigh, I never really got a chance to play multi-player. Is it still available?
