The latest patch has way too much restrictions. It has totally ruined gameplay for larger Mechs. I was considering a purchase of the Pheonix Overlord package. If its not scaled back greatly, I will not purchase anything further. I am sure there are many many clients who feel the same. Getting stuck on small rocks or hills, does not greatly depict movement of large Mechs, or any Machine for that matter. MrStude2r5

Agree. Scaled back 50% it would probably OK.

I think they need to dial it back a bit, especially how small an obstacle should make mechs slow down. Small pebbles making you lose half your speed and small platforms that are about the height of your feet that can't be stepped on feels pretty silly.

Personally I think it makes complete sense from a physics standpoint. Ankle joints on mechs can't bend forward THAT much, and I think the 45 degree cap is a bit generous for those wonderful assault mechs.

Just because you don't personally like it doesn't mean it is broken.

except this is a sim of a table top game and the machines used there, in TT atlas's could climb with their hands, mind you with all restrictions implied in place, if you are hillhumping, (so eloquent) no firing. IT is totally rediculous and absolutely against phsyics that a 35 ton mech, or any mech for that matter would be stopped by a pebble, rock, knee high outcropping etc.

When you launch off with trolls and disputes on feedback here, you sound derpy. For the people who are upset, its a new system from PGI and IGP-> see artemis, see current seismic, ppc buffs etc. This is full of fail, they are trying to address this, it will probably not be as quickly as we like, but it is beta. A very "real money" intensive beta...

I agree on a few points OP like mechs getting stuck on walls rocks cliff sides etc is terrible I do believe the hill climb limits are ok. Assaults and heavy's have it the worst not only getting stuck the most but the mechs just maneuver so bad its hard to have fun at all. Mediums and lights turn and maneuver better than heavies or assaults but overall all the mechs R-L turn rates blow chunks and it is way to slow and hard to turn around they did fix the forward and reverse acceleration which is good now if they can just fix the turn rate there goal on movement might work. I noticed this when my Atlas-DDC got stuck on a hill side and by the time I turned around I was back shot to death by a medium.

I agree with the OP.

The slow down/instant stop effect is kittens, its to much.
never in the ttg did a mech stop due an incline you halved your movement yes but not a RAMP that and wheeled vehicle could drive up in 1st or 2nd gear.

here is the thing in the battle tech Universe battle mechs are meant to be the top of the line battle platform.
How can mech be top of the line when they cant even climb a little hill without stopping?
In the games current state mechs would be torn apart by any demolisher team because the mech cant outmanoeuvre an 80 or 100 ton tank.

slow down the mech going up a steep incline sure but please scale this back it feels gimped or even budget.

Its obviously going to need 3-4 tweaks before its a system that isn't borked. Almost doesn't phase me anymore, first rule @ tweakclub, we don't talk about tweakclub. seriously they will redact my true feelings of this if expressed.

Could use a tweak or two but not much! This adds another layer to the tactics of the game which I personally find awesome. It just didn't make sense to me to have this huge Assault walking up a 45 degree slope unaffected. I'd say keep going with this concept - Make the Mechs a little more challenging to drive in general. This game is described as a thinking man's shooter - which I personally love - and every time a new layer of things to deal with is added, it's awesome.

And to MrStude2r5 - remember this is still a beta. It's pretty silly to take the stance of "make it like I want it or I'm going home"... and expect to get what you want. But hey, if you hate it that much - you may consider seeking an alternate form of entertainment... or... learn to adapt, overcome the challenge.... :)

Fun as it may appear, you fail to answer my question, so unless you have intentions of actually answering then please refrain from trying to make this into a simple poo-flinging.

Interesting... I always thought humping involved more thrusting and less strafing.

Why bother to answer a loaded question that seems designed to just throw the thread off-topic? OP is talking about mobility issues for heavies and getting stuck, not tactics.
