We should have a poll on whether Paul should step down/step away/not be involved in the final decisions anymore. He is MURDERING the game with his stupid ideas....

Paul is not murdering the game, he is slowly torturing it to death. While we watch helplessly in agony.

I have it under good advisement that the LPL is in fact Paul's red headed stepchild and the poor kid is riding a rented mule...

I believe any given 12 year old child could do a better job with balance than Paul is doing. Yes there are plenty of other problems with the game right now, but the ongoing string of ridiculous balance decisions is getting absurd. There has to be someone in the field of game development who can do a better job than this. Frankly, PGI should be embarrassed to employ him.

If the thread was moved because it was brought to the DEV teams attention, I'm fine with the move to feedback.

That is unlikely the case. When threads get dumped here, they "go away" on the next patch, never to be seen again. If anything, it is awaiting cleanup next week (which is when the next patch is released).

That alone wouldn't be chicken little, but incessant attempts you and 10 other guys are making to sell this game as "hopelessly broken" certainly are. We get that they don't follow your design philosophy. Time to realize they don't dance to the same tune as you and move on.

As for the 90m case, now you've been forced to adopt a hotter weapon to deal with the situation. One that will be even more difficult to manage in a brawl with a light circling you. I wonder what kind of pulsed, short range laser like weapon could possibly deal with this kind of situation...

Wait, working hit detection is a "design philosophy" thing? That explains it. I thought it was a quality problem...

More like "consistently not working hit detection" is a design philosophy...

In the board game pulse lasers gave you a -2 to hit.

In my mind that meant it was like a shotgun setup or a cone of fire from a machinegun. Something that would actually make it easier to hit with. This mechanic balanced the weapon perfectly for all it's drawbacks.

At some point in the video games someone decided they should be a straight beam that gave no enhanced ability to hit but made a cool noise.

In MWO they decided the cool noise wasn't enough and they shortened the beam duration.

None of that is nearly as good as hitting more often.

LBX style pulse lasers would make them useful and unique.
