Is it me or is the Atlas DDC head-and-shoulders better than the other assault mechs? 3 module slots, with a Guardian ECM for disruption, ie. 'cloaking' How the hell do you take this brute down in the battlefield?

That cloak isn't all that cloaky :) From what I've seen shooting at assaults and being shot by them the Stalker 3F is by far the most dangerous.

Shoot him in the very sizable torso. Can't go wrong, either core him or take out his main weapons - be they missiles or ballistics.

Stalkers on the other hand... can't seem to hit their CT no matter how I try.

I've found a mixture of sustained PPC fire and coarse language to be super effective in this matter.

To be honest, considering most people nowadays use at least 1 PPC, the ECM shield doesn't stay up for long due to the PPCs EMP effect. It's could for maneuvering an assault blob, but during combat its utility is suspect. Once the PPCs start flying, I would say the Atlas is outclassed by the Stalker (because of raw firepower) and maybe even Highlander (due to poptartability)

This is a Stalker's CT area. If you want to go for it, either aim for the cockpit area or the crotch. The center of the mech, the nose cone, can easily missed for the side torsos.

You might be only kidding, but I killed more than one Highlander or Jagermech by shooting their antennae sticking out behind a hill the deemed high enough.

With my JM, I usually go head to head with these. We trade damage until the AS overheats. Then I finish him off.

On the other hand, if I run into an AC40 mech within 400m or a Stalker, I retreat until a teammate can join or I have enough distance from the AC40.

Ah, I see. Thanks for that insight. I was beginning to wonder if it had any weaknesses at all.

What Mech are you piloting that is having trouble with Fatlases?

I'm using a Misery. I like using it to snipe at other mechs with my PPCs and Gauss. But my weakness is that hate missing my targets and I mostly stand still while doing it. As a result I usually get taken out first in a firefight.

The Atlas DDC is quite annoying cos I like to see my target's info to see which part of the mech chassis is damaged and focus accordingly. And the DDC's ecm cloaks it and prevents it from being targeted.

When in doubt, shooting it in the Right Torso. Will remove a lot of firepower. Can't go wrong with that.

Easy.

We shoot it. Seriously. Left torso or right torso. Then the opposite, and then the CT.
