Just a quick question, it may have been answered elsewhere but I missed it. What happens to our scores, xp, mechs etc. on the 17th? Is there going to be a reset or do we keep everything we have and its just an official launch of the game?

I'm guessing the only thing happening on the 17th (If it's not pushed back) will be the removal of the word 'Beta' from the client/game as alot of people have put to much time into the game for it to just be reset.

... However on the off chance they want to reset everything on the 17th and refund Hero mech's/Items for the MC cost I'll just take the £ equivalent into my PayPal account! Thanks PGI.

They are not resetting anything. This has been covered numerous times but some time ago, so being newer you'd likely not have seen it.

So, yeah, nothing is being reset, it's just the official game launch.

The only thing that has a chance of being reset are stats... for the purposes of the achievements system.

They are resetting stats (i.e., kills/deaths, wins/losses, etc.). That's it.

Nothing will happen. Absolutely arbitrary...may not even have UI2 by then

Well we'll probably have like whole bunch of promo articles in some gaming magazines and sites and then they'll wipe our forums fresh and... We'll have a partay with the newbies.

We'll know when they're desperate when they turn to shell games and have you sign up 3 friends and give you a day of premium time or bonus key distribution promos. Actually if they were smarter they would do this instead of let the launch fall on it's face.

If the launch is going to be such a major transition as going open beta was, then the whole ordeal will just be a huge disappointment for all parties involved.

There will be no magic launch patch that will somehow turn MWO into a balanced, deep and optimized game. Unless they've been working on a map generator, we'll just get a few more maps until launch to represent all available planets, where we will be playing "capture the red square" just like we are now, except with even less faith in the devs.

I mean, I really want to believe that things will somehow pick up speed and MWO will evolve beyond all my expectations, however the current rate of progress doesn't inspire much confidence about that belief. A date has been set and all the down-to-earth evidence suggests this will just be another milestone that falls short of everyone's expectations.

And then we just complain and keep playing, fueled by hope that MWO will keep growing and one day get close to what all mechwarrior fans have been waiting for.

Also they won't touch your ingame stuff so better grind cbills now and buy all mechs you can before they make them expensive or hard to get due to CW restrictions.

As mentioned above, there will be a stats reset at some point (see the stats page details on your forum profile). Anything that can be accessed via your mechbay won't be affected

sad to say but I think we'll lose alot of players to grand theft auto (possibly including myself), I think the launch date should be made earlier if possible as to clash with the most anticipated title of the year is a bad move.

I was thinking that too when I found out GTA V had a Sept. 17 release.

They should either release it in August or wait until October (possibly when Project Phoenix is injected). I can wait if it means more success for MWO.

Actually not true. They may reset STATS and nothing else. They have not committed to anything. Your MC, MECHS, and PILOT SKILLS will NOT be reset though.

Nope. They said they may reset stats (as you said, just stats, not skills/xp/etc) when they implement achievements, but not at launch (unless they happen to release Achievements at the same time they launch).
