Actually it is. Of course there isn't singleplayer, it's a f2p game.

You think the studio is big enough to merit the AAA brand???

If so then this game fails in so many ways, now for a small dev team making a semi-independent game I'd say MWO is fine...

It would be in the low end of the spectrum of AAA but it still qualifies due to their initial budget. If you expect them to have the game finished in less than 2-3 years then I suggest you build them a time machine.

Now that the short answer is out of the way, this is incorrect information. Russ Bullock specifically said during that podcast that Community Warfare would be out before Launch.

Please, listen to the podcast, get the real information from the source. Speculating on rumors and conjecture only leads to creating problems that don't exist, and riling up people that don't know better.

Here is the link to the podcast in question: https://soundcloud.c...ng-podcast-0079

I get what you are saying about the budget, but they really don't seem like a big enough/experienced enough company to pull of the quality (and bizarre lack of quality in some areas) I've come to expect from the big AAA titles.

And I only use my time machine so I can win big at sports betting twice a year... ;)

But WHAT is going to be released / implemented by Launch? What will phase 1 of CW be?

I'm asking for details on what the future of the game is going to be; how is community warfare going to play.

Show me what I am paying into. Show me what the future of the game will be so I can decide if I want to continue paying into it.

How am I trolling?

They said "CW Phase 1 will be in by Launch." OK, fine... but what is Phase 1?

What is Phase 2? When will it be here? What will it play like?

How am I the bad guy for asking for details on what the game is going to play like in the future?

You stated a false rumor that is not to be true on a forum. That is trolling had you asked not put it as a topic you might have gotten answers to your question. As to your question here is some that I did a forum search and found.

Community Warfare Phase 1
Allow players to form units and congregate and join factions. Battle for control of fronts/systems not yet implemented. Ranks may not yet exist on this level, subject to change.

Community Warfare Phase 2
Let players start to fight for something, control of fronts/systems, etc. Ranks introduced if not already, Merc corps able to fight on behalf of faction. This would be the meat of CW.

Community Warfare Phase 3
Introduction of clans, additional story/events after launch.

That is information we have had SINCE THE FIRST CW BLOG.

Edit: OK, that they broke it down in phases is the only "new" information, and "Phase 1" being nothing more than joining a unit in-game confirms, rather than disproves, my fear.

And this was posted as a question. Do you see the question mark at the end of the post title? That indicates the sentence is an inquiry. ;)

I want information on how the Community Warfare Gameplay Mode (ie. Assault, Conquest, "Unnamed CW Mode") is going to play like.

As said before, nobody need that crap at all. WoT is for casuals from school. WoT's stupid 2d global map is worst rendition of global-scale conflicts.

After listening to Wargaming's promises over the past couple years I just gave up on waiting for a clan wars update. I think they have something 'in the works' now and have removed some of the p2w but I just don't feel right getting back into WoT.

At least there is going to be some sort of reputation system which I assume is going to be used for getting access to mechs/equipment/something. So one known difference. Truth is we know almost nothing about how it will be in MWO, and thats not really a good thing.

Eh, the timeline thing sounded neat, but I'm not going to cry over it.

Although, honestly, "this deal gets worse every minute" for me, going by what was pitched to the founders, what we hoped, and what we are actually getting. I don't mean to say that all emotional or "PGI Sucks!" but the situation most certainly sucks for those of us that were thinking "we'd get to play through the clan invasion" via Community Warfare.

With all these comments from the gaming community, either right or wrong, I'd take my time bringing the new content out.

Some of you sound like poor kids not getting the bike they hoped for, and bitching about it before even having tried it.

HELLO DRAMA QUEENS, plz cut the rumors and the "what if's". Let it happen, then make useful comments.

Why do you need dev confirmation as opposed to just listening to the podcast?

Because NGNG podcasts are boring as ****.

"Let it happen" is how things get worse, not better.

I could be wrong, yes? I am not infallible, I am not so stuck up my own arse that I can't even see the other side.

But you don't just "let something you don't agree with" happen.

Everyone fighting for things in this game is doing so for their own reasons, and I fully support anyone making a case for a change or improvement, even if I might nay-say their particular idea.

Totally agree, without Community Warfare there is no point to continue playing this game. I would guess that there are lots of mechwarrior/battletech enthusiasts that are just waiting on CW until we look at MWO again. Seems like so much more is tied to CW though. Its going to need more game modes and maps to go along with it.

The question is, will we actually get any? It took them like 4 months to add 3 bases and some different points. Conquest is stupid. I hope they come up with better ideas in the future and really produce more varied game modes that aren't all TDM. We were promised a dropship mode months and months ago... No word on that for a long time...

CW according to Q&A 42 says that it is in late stage design and development. Meaning that features are approved and designers are scoping. It also means that some items have started coding. However it also means that it is no where near complete for internal testing.

As it is currently july 13th. With launch supposidly Sept 21st, you have approximately 50 working days to finish CW scoping, finish coding(mor like start coding some elements), QA, develope a plan for internal testing, internal test, public test, polish and release patch.

In order to release a patch, the patch elements are usually ready at least a week prior to patching. Gotta test your patch to make sure that the patch itself works as intended.

No offense to PGI, but they are very inexperienced and are overstating their capabilities. Heck, last summer the said CW would be ready before the start of fall. (I guess this may be true in a sense as they didn't say which fall).

I applaud PGi for their endevour, and support them; initially with my founder package. But now just morally, until i see more focused results.

At the end of the day there just isn't enough time for them to launch Cw before fall this year. Unless uou consider CW pick a banner to fight under. No no no. CW by efination id the fighiting over the control of planets. Whcih will require dynamic map based coding elements.

While i trust their intentions are good and they really mean what they; they need to get their head out of their third point of contact and do a CPM witha critical path that is resource loading in order to develope a rwalisitc schedule. (Stickies ona a white board

Stickies ona a white board as a schedule are for kids and amateurs when you are trying to schedule a large complex proejct with many multiple tasks, subtasks etc etc. With many groups of employees. Etc
