Thank you, Uminix. I made my evaluation (using both, Smurfy's and in-game mechlab) and decided not to buy it. I think, the 732C is much better, though it has slighty less arms turn. But it can arm mount an AC/20 or Dual UAC/5 and has more missile tubes. Talking about missile tubes...

Warning! To anyone buying the Heavy Metal (or another Highlander, except the 732) and planning to equip it with LRMs: Remember, that those Highlanders still have messed-up missile allocation. Same issue as with Quickdraw and some other 'Mechs. Read this for reference to save you a disappointment.

no problem, I figured I would rather have an honest review, and not some hyped up BS cuz someone like the mech specifically... dont misunderstand me, I have a few favorite mechs in thhis game and my HM named "Thrash" cuz I grew up on thrash metal is one of my top 3, side by side by side with my 2d commando and 4x raven... until October 15th.... who knows what will happen then...

PS. I have run all but the 733 highlander and the others are all tribute mechs to Jeff, Cliff and Dimebag, I havent run the 733 yet because I don't have another Thrash Metal God to memorialize...

Ugh, tempting offer. Been spending my founders MC lately, got the Misery. Been having fun in the Assault class with Stalkers. Last couple of days running a Heavy / Jager, but not getting my big bang experience. Was thinking of setting up a Highlander today, to compare the fun-factor between Jager and Highlander. So, off to Mechbay now to get a Highlander, perhaps if I like it, I'll get the Heavy Metal at discount (cuz need some Mechbays to have a threesome, the discount comes in handy).

What unique stuff can it do?

its energy hardpoints are all in the arms (versatility), it can go faster and jump higher than the others... other than that other variants can match it in most ways

I have had my Heavy Metal since the day it launched and i have to say it's my favourite mech, i don't know why as it's layout isn't the best out of the other variants, but on a kill you gloriously let out a burst of music to let ppl around you know yes that was my kill.
With the 30% cbill boost as well i just find it a pleasure to take it out.

I had two of the production variant HGNs and loved them; then bought the HM today....

After picking a build from MechSpecs (shameless plug) I have been having a blast. I actually sold my other two HGN and have been having a blast with the HM. Just wish I could get rid of that ***** tonk stuff and just have the guitar riff instead.
