Well I got my highlander 732 today.
Ive played some matches stock and some other random builds.
But I need some expert help to perform better.

Im looking for something good for long range, while being able to protect myself at close range.
I'd like to keep my guess, and maybe some Large lasers or ppc's ?
What about this build?

But I am bad with SRM's (never realy used them)

Help please !

This build is pretty bad.

1. Take out that LL and put another ER in or drop the ERs to LL. Your range profile is bad.
2. 1 JJ isnt worth the weight cost. Take it out or add at least 1 one more if not 2.
3. SSRMs are not SRM. SSRMs are lock on fire and forget. Basically free damage.

I would highly suggest taking 3 tons of gauss ammo.

Aside of that, some things you might want to consider:
1) You can use a XL engine on the highlander without much drawbacks. Side torsos are small, and you will die to CT cores most of the time.

2) In the current meta, PPCS are somewhat superior to large lasers because of their instant pinpoint damage. If you want a good longerange build, PPCs will probably serve you better than lasers because you will spread less of your damage.

3) I wouldn't use only 1 streak srm. You have to load 1 ton of ammo, which is much more than you will use up with a single streak launcher. (considering its role as backup weapon)

4) If you use streaks you should consider putting a BAP into your mech, which cancels the ECM effect within 150m.

Here is what i am using on my 732:

- 325xl because i like to go maxspeed (and it lets me put 3 heatsinkis in the engine which solves crit space issues)
- 3JJ for decent jump ability
- 2 PPCs and the Gauss give you a good long range punch
- 3 ssrm2 give you a nice backup if you are forced into close range combat (and they are awesome against light mechs)

I feel like 1 ton of ssrm ammo is enough to serve as a backup weapon (16 shots of all 3 launchers), but you could drop the leg armor or get rid of 1 heatsink to take another ton.

try this

or
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...2f2451fc1abadc1

im currently running this but this is srm not ssrm.

if none of these work, you can always just do the ppc and gauss.

I run my HGN-732 as a hybrid.

Gauss as the primary weapon. LRM20+Artemis with 2 tons of reloads for softening up targets out in the open. When the enemy closes and the LRMs no longer work 3 MLs & 2 SSRM2s with a ton of reloads for close combat. 2 Jump Jets for obstacles. Standard 275 engine with 12 Double Heat Sinks give a Heat Efficiency of 1.3. Beagle Active Probe to support for the LRMs at range and cancelling ECM on Lights in close so the Streaks can get a lock although this could be dropped for AMS or with some leg armour for a third jump jet or whatever.

Here's mine: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...a2915c6fd107808
It's probably not optimal for highly competetive play, but I like it. LRMs and AC10 at range; AC10 and SRMs closer up - both arm-mounted for easy aim. Add the medium lasers when heat allows.
