Just because your a casual player, that doesn't mean you can't join a group....

Not saying I can't, just asking for the option to play in a queue with like minded players. Not sure why this bothers you.

That's the problem, organized well built teams use this, casual players do not. Hence the balance issue.

tons of casual players hop on this,
most organized teams have their own voice coms

Again, why the issue with having a seperate queue, of course assuming the player base is big enough to support the division?

Because then we will have everyone asking for all kinds of separate Qs. Stock mechs only, New Players only, light mechs only, medium mechs only. Instead just ask for drop lobbies and be done with it.

So drop lobbies are the solution, that cool. Not too familiar, but I'll take your word.

*face palm* This again.

I'd support separate drops for new players IF there were enough to justify it. Aside from that, no. There isn't even close to this much fragmentation in other multiplayer games. From early FPS games to RTS and MMOs, everyone plays in the same area - take it or leave it.I don't see why MWO should be any different.

Good I'll count you as a yes, since big enough player base is part of the assumption.

Drop lobbies and a VOIP that works: the better alternative to the OP's topic.

Question about drop lobbies, do they balance out the groups vs random solo drops, or will this just allow group 1, 2, 3, etc. to become group/team 1 vs. pug all solo team 2?

why are pugstompers concerned with further fragmentation? theres is no fragmentation currently.

I understand people dont want to face competition but there is no valid reason for not having premades in one queue and pugs in another.

ELO has helped sortof by shuffling premade players to a higher ELO so segregate them somewhat, but its still an issue.

I think they may be worried that they might lose more if they lost their advantage of organized group vs. somewhat organized/completely disorganized individuals.

I agree with Asmosis - ELO should have separated the team players from PUGs somewhat due to the higher expected W/L ratios. But the lower ranked team players probably still drop into the PUG tiers, and a cohesive team still can out perform a ragtag PUG band (of course, there are exceptions).

I expect you can still have steamrolls one way or the other even with all PUG encounters. There are several other factors that make a PUG team work well. Mutual support, focused fire, calling targets (when able), and typing comms when you can - all contribute to a win match. I've dropped into matches with two obvious PUG teams, when one team would accuse the other of being a premade. When you get that random group of eight that somehow clicks, it's amazing to see.

We do need in-game comms. We also need a drop lobby. It would extend the PUG game (and give convenience to the team players) by having an even foundation for all matches.

I've heard the lobby is coming. But concerning is I haven't heard much Re: in-game comms...

And if VOIP comes you will join groups?

If VOIP comes I will use it to speak with other solodroppers and actually have some chance against premades. Assuming if it actually is implemented somewhere in the future.

Most premades are just people who use comms. There really isn't that much of a difference between a person in a premade and a person in a PUG except for communication.

Groups don't want a group queue. That would get in the way of the roflstomps.

Splitting the player population is only acceptable for the all important 3PV. You could never allow it for a segment of the actual players that actually exist, it can only be used for a potential player that might exist. Like a yeti or a quadricorn.
