Paul just announced on the NGNG Townhall feed a thread about flamers is incoming. And this 'exploit' nonsense is addressed as well.

I figured I should go ahead and post this before Paul gets the dedicated Flamer thread posted so that Sereglach can't try to accuse me of not already knowing this or some other line of BS.

The mechanic of what is actually taking place with 2 Flamers on chain fire:
The Heat Scale goes from 0% to 100%, but starts on 1% for what it shows on the Hud.
The Flamer starts with heat below 1%, way below, and the flamer begins it's exponential increase and continues to increase as long as it's being used.
Now with two flamers on chainfire that switch happens before the first flamer hits 1% heat so the heat scale never shows any heat gain. While the second flamer is building up it's heat, your heat dissipation (dependent on type and amount of heatsinks you are running) is dealing with the first flamer's heat as well as the heat now coming from the second flamer. [With the right amount of heat dissipation you can actually never gain heat with the method because the flamer is never allowed to go over what your heat dissipation can deal with.]
JUST LIKE WHAT HAPPENS WITH ANY OTHER WEAPONS ON CHAINFIRE.

I withheld this information because anyone with such vast extensive research on flamers and more time playing with flamers than anyone else in this game (lmao) should have already known this.

Flamers and MG should be improved in every aspect.

MG could have higher crit chance and crit dmg than flamers, but get improved base dmg nontheless.
Flamers could have higher base dmg and heat dmg/transfer to the enemy mech(s). Some increased crit dmg as well.
Both should have improved range. And of course NO heat generation. In case of the flamer, check lore on sarna. Flamers use heat from the reactor to create the flame jet, so it shouldnt really produce ANY heat to the mech it gets created from.

I said yes to everything because I was to lazy to read what this was about, and because K-Town.

It's an old suggestion thread of mine that got moved here because a certain troll *cough*Death Drow*cough* decided to destroy the thread with knowledge and information on exploits. It's sad, too, because even with the existence of such exploits the Flamer is still a terribly sub-par weapon.

Regardless, I still keep the suggestion in my signature because the basic information is still pertinent even 3 years after the OP was made. I mean, for crying out loud, you know the OP is old when it's suggesting adding the Firestarter as a mech.
