Screw that. The only thing I will cram in that will be dakka. Obscene amounts of dakka. 4UAC5s and two AC2s. 6 AC5s. I want to keep ammunition companies in business with my mech alone. I want the TF2 heavy to gaze at my mech in rapt adoration before shedding a single tear in pure, childlike joy. I want the new, awesomely loud sound effects to create a harmonic reverberation in my head that causes my ears to bleed and my fillings to fall out, while I cry tears of joyous blood. Lasers will be afterthoughts. If I could trade a laser hardpoint for an MG, I would. I want to throw so much dakka down range that ORKS think I have gone too far. I want people on the receiving end to be so shaken that they feel the need to create a new collective noun to describe what they were hit with, because 'torrent' and '****-load' don't do it justice. I want a lance of boom Yagers to see my loadout, and decide that discretion is the better part of valour. Dakkaphracts will worship me as their king.

Speed will be an afterthought. Armour and gun are all that matters. Gun so I can smite my enemies, armour so I can spread the joyous gift of dakka to all that I can for as long as I can.

Well said.
I refer you to the ( Jihad era) ANH-3A with 4 ERML..and 8 Light AC2s... yes EIGHT! That is a canon stock build! Better remove the lasers and fill in more ammo, because 8 AC2s ( light meaning only lighter at cost of a bit of range ( still 18 hexes compared to regular AC2 with 24) on chain fire will eat a lot of it.#
If you are willing to compromise on armour you might try to fit in Ultra AC2s <_< Actually if you remove the lasers and use clan tech you can easily replace 4 of the 6 ACs with ultras without touching armour.
Or go the high risk high DAKKA way of trying to fit in as many RAC2s as possible. But those weight twice as much then the light AC2s... but removing the lasers and you could get 5 LAC2 +1 RAC without touching armour again

The Kraken will be better in almost every way.

14 ballistic points or 8 missile. King of the boats.

The possibilities for lulz are endless: 4 gauss rifles, 14 UAC/2, 14 machineguns, 3 UAC/20, 8 streak SRM6s, 8 LRM20s with no min range, 8 ATM9s with high explosive missiles.

Actually some of those won work :P 14 UAC2, even using clan tech weight 70 tons. Ok might work with minimal engine, missing armour and next to no ammo <_<
8LRM20s definetly is a crit space problem.

Ah, the Kraken. I'd be happy with the STOCK 10UAC2s.

"Release the Kra-BRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT-oh, jesus, aaah, wow! They told me you were effective, but wow, there's bits of mech all over me man. Wow. You're like... the A10 of Mechs, man!"

No, not without ARTEMIS. Drop that and you can fit that in the arms I think.

Though I still want the King Crab. It looks interesting and different from the rest. (Though the Annihilator has some of that unique stuff with its head, too). Of course, that's rathre lame on the term of boats. 2 Gauss Rifles or 2 AC/20s. I already hear people yawning.

King Crab would be amazing. I'd play no other mech if they ever released my baby.

If the Annihilator comes with a Tunnel map, you can count me in. I'll be waiting in the tunnel... with my turret Annihilator Balrog, deep in the Mines of Moria.

we would only yawn, because the build would be 2 gauss, 2 PPCs and 2 streaks, or More ppcs based on how PGI put the mech in the game.

Ok... meet me in the tunnel..you and me battle it out..your Annihilator and my Fafnir. Screw fancy clan tech, Heavy Gauss rifles are how we roll!
Hmm we need a bridge to fall of together in the end on that map.

That mech would be... fun doesn't quite begin to describe it...

I can only imagine the reaction when a 160 missile volley comes screaming out of that thing.

"There goes 0.92 tons of ammo...."

Nothing quite says "Get behind cover" like LRM volleys that you confuse for the sun, at first.

I can only imagine the chaos that thing could create with 10 UAC2s, though....

The clans are rather roflstomp....

Would be neat, t hough to be honest, I think it always looked a bit ugly with its strange cockpit/head section. Still, it has its appeal.

But they won't give it to us, because it would just break their game. Triple Gauss? Quad AC/10? Dual AC/20? Even the hardpoint restriction fanbois can't solve this riddle. (Some will just say it's okay, because it is meant to be a boat.)

Triple gauss??? the hell you talking QUAD GAUSS FOO

As fun as those Clan assaults are.. I prefer their lights... where dual ERPPCs, or dual LRM20s on a 35t chassis are stock builds.

Interesting to see in the forum about gameplay balance, people are salivating over the prospect of four or five or six Gauss or UAC5s.

It might also fit into upcoming content... I personally see it as a thread full of examples why pinpoint accuracy can't stay.. we already have problems with that right now.. think of how much worse those designs, many of the canon stock variants, would make it
