Without any real penalties for possibly losing or permanently damaging your pilot, ejecting will never be needed unfortunately.

That's pretty much the same with mechs; players never lose their mechs when they are destroyed, but yet they can still launch with them after the match.

I guess I don't understand the relevance of your comment with regard to my proposal.

KD/R shouldn't be focused on too much. This adds too much emphasis on it, that's pretty much why.

To expand upon it, I don't think most IS pilots want to die, which is why they have an ejection systems in lore. Simulating not wanting to lose your pilot would be something like adding permanent injury if you go down with your mech, that affects aim ability, or if he's dead that account is gone for good. Obviously they won't be adding anything like that, so the need for an ejection system is purely an irrelevant, almost cosmetic thing right now.

I've assumed that your pilot DOES eject...after all, you still gain XPs for the match. The lower Cbill award, I presumed, is devoured by the repairs on your mech, replacement ammo, and about 15 tons of Bond-O.

Surviving should give you an XP bonus.

This should be applied if you eject and escape and evade as well.

Easy answer, make ejects count as a death and lose cbills. If people want the cool visuals of an eject they can have it. But pilots who ejects shouldn't benefit from it in any way.

Stay with your team and fight to the last small laser, you cowards.

I want PGI to introduce a fought-to-the-death/ran-away-like-a-girl ratio.

This is my opinion and there may be others who agree or not, I don't care. But personally if this was implemented, I'd never eject. My ELO ratio? Meaningless to me. Losing my Cbills and XP? Much, MUCH more important. Becides, I already 'eject': if I'm in a no-win situation, I'll quit game. I've got better things to do than be someone's helpless punching bag.

Just my opinion, and even though I just started playing, it seems reasonable to have a "retreat" option of some sort that a player can utilize when faced with a hopeless situation...as long as there's a considerable penalty for doing so.

Whether you call it retreat, eject, or surrender...players should have the option.

After reading about plans for CW and loyalty, maybe retreating/ejecting/surrendering should incur a loyalty penalty?

not sure on the loyalty penalty. However, it's pretty obvious we need ejection.Id also hate to see ejection abused to make money or avoid maps.

Ejection should cost you 75,000 cbills, and prevent your KDR from counting a death towards you, but still award the last pilot to damage you with a kill, or a random pilot if you took no damage.

This way, on a loss, you make no money, but can if you choose eject when it is in example 8v1 and you simply cannot win for the team, and fighting will net you an obvious KDR loss anyhow.

if combined with a bonus for pay as odds scale - ie fi you are down 7-2 and you come back and win a match you make lets say 750,000 ejection becomes an option, but winning and fighting for it is also an option that could be VERY lucrative.

odds should be set just like a race - odds of 6-2 would pay more. this would make people try harder rather than give up for the next match and "win" too.

I find it very frustrating sometimes when I win a match and do something epic like kill the last 5 mechs standing and 1-2 still have full armour, and then endgame hits and my pay is about that of a normal good win. rewarding "epic" matches would do a lot to encourage pilots pushing the limits harder.
