I just got an EVGA GTX 650 Ti Boost off Newegg and it has been solid perfomance and decently high graphic settings in MWO and Neverwinter Online both.

* missed the "under $120" part of the original post, still the 1GB version of this card is reasonable close, though I went with the 2GB version for $160.

I'd have to note that with adaptive vsync, lower power consumption, heat, and noise....the GTX650 is about your best choice. I have installed two of them now...and they handle the game nicely. That could all change when 12v12 becomes norm, but I think that might be more a factor of CPU power rather than graphics.

I watch my buds 7970 screen tear once in awhile, even as powerful as it is...and it makes me cringe. In contrast, my new gtx760 with avsync on, never tears or stutters. A far cry from my old hd6870, and frankly in my book, a notch above his due to this one feature alone. His has more raw power in some cases, but still 'looks' worse than mine during heavy combat.(same settings, except that I run @1200p and he's at 1080p).

**also...I've noted that since going from AMD to nVidia...that Alpine, and both Frozen City maps have yet to drop texture/shaders into the nether, leaving me with grey buildings/rocks/glaciers/etc. like with the AMD cards(I have 2 still). Maybe this is a result of the 'nvidia optimized' junk....or maybe this engine + AMD drivers is still a crap combo...I'm not sure.

uhh honestly thats a 2011 chip, fits his pricerange but is already outdated.
As a carry-over card, sure. But not very future proof. Sucks craploads of power in comparison.

Plenty of best buy guides on google.
Some sites do those every quarter these days, anandtech, tomshardware etc.

I run a gtx560 SC and it works just fine. However, a 2GB gtx760 can be had for $250

Well, I got the GTX650... and my performance has improved slightly... but it's a dramatic difference in heat.

GTX650 @ idle load is @ 30C... high load, it goes no higher than 45C

GTX260 @ idle load was @ 50C... high load, it goes to like 70+C and touching the cooler felt like an instant heat death trap

Yea... it was worth it.

LOL turn off v-sync on your GTX660TI and watch the screen tear.
Cryengine is sponsored by and optimised for AMD you obviously have not played Crysis3 with the latest Cryengine.
OP: I seriously suggest at least getting a 7870XT/660TI or higher....A 7770/7790 will be horribly slow when MWO gets DX11support.

there are some bargin HD 7850 cards around, they are great cards. Not Huge so easy to fit, only require one extra PCI-E power cable and the memory is 256bit

the 7870 for example is only slightly better but much bigger and requires 2x extra power connectors (I own both)

quick look around I can see one new for 160 on egg and some cheap 2nd hand ones on ebay.

The 7770HD is an amazing card but you will need a 6pin connector and if not you need a new PSU. I have the 7750HD and with my i5 2320 i can run any game out on ultra locked at 30fps. Depending on your cpu the 7750HD should deliver all the gaming power you need.
