I dunno, my cheeseball Stalker with 4 ALRM 20's is pretty effective (by KD ratio). You do need to really boat it out to make em effective though. Otherwise they are what they should be, a skirmishimg weapon, to soften up the armor a bit.

For some reasons those servers are up right now.
You can login and see friends who are online/chat with them, search games but missing probably 23 other players so it doesn't find a match.

No one wants this, just adds more chaos, more latency, takes skill away from really good pilots as there will just be WAY too many mechs on these small maps.

8 v 8 felt perfect, 12 v 12 is just a money decision as your servers can handles 24 at a time, which means servers working at max cappacity..

Why does it have to be ppc, why not 1440 small lasers and machine guns?

A statement of 'you' don't want this is far more appropriate than saying 'no one', as I know quite a few people who do indeed want this, and thoroughly enjoyed it, myself included.

As to the chaos statement, this is supposed to be a battlefield, complete with all of the chaotic trimmings of one. And skill was hardly removed with the addition of more mechs, if anything it was thrust into the fore as it required you to skillfully work with your teammates to outmaneuver the opponents. I played in a number of rounds where we successfully put on a tide turning medium mech flank that helped to roll up the other team.

Actually, once people adjust they will find 12 v 12 much more tactically oriented.

Can't believe some people assume everyone agrees with them (top poster)..I do want it and also didn't experience any issues except maybe a 5 FPS drop which still very playable...

Yeah, but it sucks that it doesn't use the latest version of your profile,not does anything you do in the public trial carry over to your account. Pity, that.
