12v12 isn't coming until august since they'll be testing it through all of july, I was on the positive side despite all the hate the community has towards PGI but I think that was the straw that broke the camel's back, expect to be disappointed once again this month!

Well at least 12v12 is "kinda" here. We got test servers and an actual schedule this time instead of a push back and no communication.

And we seriously need these test servers. Every feature that's been released has needed some major tuning.

I'd rather be disappointed now and have a great game later that stays great for a decade.

Sucks that it's basically not until August, by I'm okay with that. 12v12 affect a lot more than just more mechs in a match. Weapon balance, ammo supply, end of match rewards, all the back end technical stuff,... It's a long list. This literally affects everything. It should be a slow process.

We are still in Beta though, so everything we've been playing up to this point should have been considered a test run. They turned open beta into a soft release, so now they cant risk breaking the game for X number of people who are playing it as if it were a finished product. If they had made it more clear earlier on that this was still a WIP, there wouldn't be any need for another layer for testing.

Basically we just got an beta server for a beta....
But your right about the soft release, though.

Well the problem with THAT is that everytime they went to institute a change that needed to be tested but the public didnt like, QQmaghedan would commence. Got to the point that they Devs seemed to have given up on us being 'Testers' as we became too busy trying to keep the game at one exact build instead of...you know...testng.......

Which is sad, this is beta, we are supposed to be on test servers already. Kinda drives the point home that PGI is operating this "beta" as a scam.

I'm not sure, and I can't be arsed to go check for what amounts to a QQ thread, but didn't they say 12v12 in July on the test server?

Which is pretty much what's happening?

Correct me if I am wrong, but the way I read the public test post is that only the first of the three test days scheduled is for 12v12; the next two might be testing something else entirely. There's still a shot at 12v12 next week, if that is the case.

11th, 18th, and 25th are all 12 v 12 tests. So consider this your correction ;)

As Stjobe said, all the dates specifically say 12v12.

But you are correct in that there can be additional things to test such as 'modules', weapon balance tweaks, etc. After all they went through a lot of trouble to tell us very specifically that any purchases we make on the test server will be for the test server only and wiped after. They will not affect our live server side account.

Thus you could test airstrikes, artillery, uavs, MAG vision (if it comes available), and other trinkets for changes or that might be "new" in general. For example it'd make sense of a mech that isn't released yet appears on the test server before it does on the live one. I know I'll be buying an "MC Victor" on the test servers to see how I like them before the cbills ones come out. I'll also be paying attention to sounds to see what else gets overhauled, and to whether or not PPC damage spread or the heat penalties are enabled on the test build.

It's unlikely, but you never know when there might be a rear camera complete with properly mounted rear-firing shoulder weapons on the Quickdraw, Cataphract 1x, and rear CT weapons on the Atlas K.

It also said "Check back frequently for possible additional tests.
So they might drop new ones anytime.

Edited to denote the following is a quote.

It is important to note that Test Servers only run on set days at set times, the purpose of this forum is to convey the planned dates and times of any upcoming tests. So please check back regularly to see what new tests are planned. We will generally try to update this as soon as we expect a build to be ready for public test but please note that all tests are subject to change, if we encounter last minute issues with a test build.

Yeah, I'm in no hurry. I'm having fun with the two deathmatch modes they have.

My biggest gripe with the game right now (with the July patch) is with the MatchMaker. It seems like it reverted to the way it was 6 months ago; i.e. extremely unbalanced matches.

I'm guessing there won't be a lot of people playing the "standard" version of MWO tomorrow, thus proving that PGI should have used MWO: BETA as an actual beta instead of putting a test server...

Exactly! The hopeless optimist in me says that this leaves one Tuesday left in July, the 30th, to patch it in, as long as all goes well.

They will then proceed to use this as proof, for the next year, that they are living up to their promises even though the game will continue to under deliver.
