All my friends have such stories. Don't think it is because of ping (Commando or other lights take shot as it should be).
P.S. Sorry for my bad English.

They are supposed to be smaller than a spider I am led to believe.

I will definitely run a locust, it looks like fun... what I *hope* is that the destruction animation has limbs go shooting off every which way a glorious death for a tiny mech!

I never run in a straight line when enemies are around like I see so many other light pilots do. I've been killed plenty of times by streaks, lasers and PPC/Guass/AC20. Very rarely by LRMs though. Alot of matches I am the last man standing or one of the last men standing. The best light pilots choose opponents already engaged with a teammate. Thanks to the seismic module (whoevers bright idea that was) It is much harder to sneak up on the big fatties that everyone likes to take constantly. I still do it quite a bit though.
I never do as well in Jenners, I hate ravens and cicadas. I dunno about the commando because i've never tried it. to me spiders have the most adrenaline pumping action because it is fast paced and you can die much easier than other heavier chassis.
As another poster said, when I do get hit sometimes I will notice the damage being spread around by a weapon like a PPC or Guass. I have even seen streaks do whirlybirds around my cockpit every now and then and thats after they have sounded like they hit. So as another poster said, it could be the animations and damage indicators are out of whack.
I'll make a prediction now. When the speed cap is lifted and mechs can go over 150, there will be a whole other host of bugs show up in this game overnight that PeeGeeAye will spend 6 months trying to "fix". In the long run they will fix it after they've broken a dozen other things doing so.
I hope i am wrong, I just have the feeling of doom the last few months from them. Duke Nukem Forever anyone?

I don't tend to have a ton of problems hitting them, other than the fact that good spider pilots are really freaking twitchy. But enough folks have reported this issue that I suspect it's real.

..wait, that happens 6months after the community, so I guess we'll see a fix sometime next year?

I also had the reverse experience of seeing myself get hit (in several Mechs including Assaults) and no damage registered.
