Hey guys, I just got Elite status on all 3 of my Jenners. Not all of them are my favorite variant, but I did what I had to do to be able to move forward and achieve Mastery.

My question is, now that Mastery is possible on my favorite Jenner variants, is there any benefit to gaining Mastery on all 3 variants? Or is this a good time to sell off my least favorite Jenner?

Sell away. There are no benefits for mastering more than one variant.

Accept the accomplishment of doing it.

Before you sell any mech make sure you strip it of all components, weapons, engines, ammo, heat sinks, etc. You can even strip the armor off if you want. You won't get that many c-bills for a selling a mech anyways and saving components for future use will save you money in the long run.

when you sell a mech, doesnt the game ask if you want to sell it with or without components?

Yes it does... but since the interface doesn't warn us if we design a mech that lacks ammo I think everyone kind of errs on the side of caution.

You do know that you could have gotten Elite on any of three LIGHT mechs right? You didn't have to do just Jenners. Just making sure. Sell any you don't want there is no further need of them if you don't want Master in them. You can right now go Master in any LIGHT mech, once you have Basic>Elite.

One thing you might (or might not) wanna consider is the upcoming achievement system.

I could imagine something like that:

"Master three variants of the Jenner - Reward: Unique Camo Pattern"

Just saying :)

What do you mean? Don't you need at least basics in 3 variants. THEN, if you have mastered another light mech(let's for example say a Raven) it will let you go up to masterey without eliting the other 2 variants? This thing is confusing me.

1) Before you sell remember they may add features in the future... It may very well be worth mastering them just so you can leverage anything released later without having to buy the mechs back (Achievements or other benefits.)

2) In order to ELITE a specific type of mech you need to unlock the basics for 3 of that mech (Jenner.) In order to unlock mastery you need to elite 3 of that Class (Light.) Though I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong. :) Honestly the system makes no sense, but that's much of what PGI does. :)

No, you still have to take 2 more variants up through basic to unlock elite on the first variant.

I wish people would stop saying it like you only have to do one. You still have to buy 3 variants and unlock them.

So in your case, you've unlocked elite in Jenners, but for adding the Raven, you have to first BUY 3 Raven variants and unlock basic skills on ALL 3 RAVENS. Then you can just elite one Raven if you wish.

Correct. You have to unlock all basic efficiencies in 3 variants of a particular chassis to access the elite tier, but after that you only need to have unlocked all elite efficiencies in any 'mech of that weight class to access the master tier.

*Edit* Ok, so everyone answered at once. I think OldOrgandoner's is best stated.

This post is the end all be all fully detailed explanation with examples...

http://mwomercs.com/...cies-explained/

Short version to get Elite you need to finish Basic in 3 variants of the same Chassis (all Jenners). To get Master you need to be Elite in 3 variants of the same WEIGHT CLASS (1 Jenner, 1 Raven, 1 Spider would work or any combo).
