Mind blowing. I wish more 'competitive' gamers would open their eyes and realize how vitriolic and self-destructive their attitudes are to the community as a whole.

I really hope you reserve statements like that for the internet, I'd hate to meet someone like that in real life.

Blah blah blah you don't like how I sound. It's the truth and you should call a spade a spade. "OMG BRALWING IS BLANCED BECAUSE I WON A FEW GAMES." That doesn't belong on a forum about gameplay balance because it irrelevant. You are playing against bad pugs. Report back when you win a majority of your games vs a top 8man team. Until then, you are merely point out the fact that bads are bad and you can beat them with anything.

So basically, no. Thank god I already steer clear of Indiana. Enjoy your throne atop the plebs of MW:O man. You've earned it.

In fairness your getting your undies in a twist for nothing...

My post was had absolutely no intent to justify a forwarded premise regarding balance. It was a personal account and observation for my own edification... Nothing more.

That said, through those games I played with and against players that (I assumed) were competitive players based on their forum activity, staunch support of competitive play and such... So either I was the "bad" in their leet sandwich or I was playing with the right groups of players... ;)

When you are going to post testimony like this, especially when you are claiming to have done this against competitive players, you ought to post videos or screenshots.

I think part of the problem is trying to be a brawler only. I would have gone with Large or ER Large over the Pulse, so that I had some reach to make opponents duck a bit as I closed.

The problem is the need to compete with explosive close-range damage. The AC20 gets people to duck, I've been playing sniper with a 20 since I started in Atlases a good while ago. With them being torso mounted keeping beams on target is tough. ERPPCs however are just too hot. LPLs are not ideal but they help. 25% reduction in beam time is worth 4 heat more often than not.

Sigh...

I don't swing an e-peen to stroke so I don't do videos or images... And I only mentioned "the players" to mitigate your premise that I was playing against green noobies... I've got nothing to hide and nothing to prove.

Like I said... I was just sharing my experience.. not attempting to move the MW:O universe with some mind-blowing observation.

Got it. It's your "good build". I don't see an AC20 as a sniper gun due to its limited range, but it is a definite hammer to be respected! But I do see and respect your view here. ;) :(

Instead make your post say, "At an undisclosed level of play with nothing but anecdotal evidence, no videos and no proof, I did okay at best with brawler builds in a very small sample size of games." Then you would be honest. However, you claim that brawling actually is fine or not bad, and that everyone else is exaggerating claims. Don't make claims of your own like that, because you are exaggerating.

Good responses all... I'm getting "educated". ;) Your responses thus far have kinda confirmed what I've long suspected... The "casual player" and the "competitive player" cannot coexist and benefit from each others company... No condescension intended but as a casual player I have to admit my #1 driving force it to "have fun". I do this by doing things I beleive benefit the team and sheepishly please "me". It's obvious a competitive player is driven by "winning" and being competitive. I believe this is indicative of their "no-nonsense" approach to MW:O and the low tolerance in regards to imbalance and the present high-alpha meta... Not to mention the less-than flattering opinion of anyone who does not share the same competitive drive.

But on same coin, ya, I have TONS of fun with 6x flamer jenner, and I can roll a decent K/D ratio for it...still doesn't change the fact that it's an AWFUL idea that no one without my hundreds of matches of use should even be attempting as "a good idea" and not "LOL MY JJs GO HIGHER CAUSE I SHOOT MY FLAMERS DOWNWARD AT THE SAME TIME FOR EXTRA WOOSH!"

I say yes from experience. It's also really fun to jump, spin wildly firing flamers into snow and watch the little steam/water trails on the snow afterwards. IT'S ART I TELL YOU, ART!

I also paint my flamer mech flame colored (Jenner phraken with red, orange and yellow actually makes the "toothed mouth" look like a giant flame) to make it run faster.

IT'S SCIENCE

Top right is my flamer Jenner, lol. IT RUNS FAST. Ignore the stats, they are super old.

It's the screen shake I think. You'd be surprised, 400m out the little ******* is still around 10 points and they get the impression that somebody loves them. Remember - ballistics scale over 3x range, not double. A 20 hits for 10 points at 405m but shakes their head out to 800.

Trying LLs. The extra 4 tons lets me almost max out the engine, add some ammo. Hmmm....

I want LPLs to work again. They used to brawl like a fiend - faster cycle time than PPCs made a significant difference in a brawl. Now though they're just too hot. Same weight, inferior in every functional way. Maybe I'm selling LLs short.

Wow...

With your ability to read between the lines and create your own story... I bet I could give you a four page instruction manual and you'd be able to turn it into a 400 page novel. :P

You go right ahead and believe what you wish young buck... I'm just here to play a game and have fun.
