This is something I've actually been wondering myself lately, but from a "Was all that money for this really worth it?" rather then a "Should I buy it?" position. I run a trio of Highlanders one of them is a brawler, but the others vary between fire support and snipers depending on my mood. The main difference between them is that one of them has the Artemis upgrade and the other doesn't and after plenty of play with them my opinion can be summed up with a simple damning indictment: I can't really notice a difference.
I don't seem to do more damage, the lock on time is perfectly workable in 99% of cases on standard guidance, and since I'm firing LRMs indirect A LOT the bonuses don't even matter. I actually notice a considerably larger difference with SRMs, I might actually support it on an SRM boat purely for the added accuracy,but for LRMs? Well I've personally been distinctly unimpressed. I no longer intend to spend the huge C-bill cost to add it to my other mech and I frankly kind of wish I hadn't added it to the first. I just don't feel like it's covering it's costs in terms of weight and slots. To be utterly frank I'd much rather have two or three extra tons of LRM ammo, being able to spam at marginal targets cause I have plenty of rounds has proved far, FAR more useful then the highly nebulous benefits Artemis seems to provide to LRM.
So yeah IMO invest in BAP to prevent being lock blocked by ECM lights, mount a TAG if you can to slice through ECM at distance, and then just pile on the ammo and pass on the extra weight and space of Artemis.
what exactly were the weapons you where using?? smaller salvos benefit less, also lrms are kind of bugged right now, a little to accurate again

(also think they have a damage problem, my 3 lrm 15 awesome couldn't kill a jager with NO ct armor and cherry red internals

)
think of it this way, if you already have enough lrm ammo, might as well put Artemis on to make the best use of the rest of your tonnage AND your ammo, and i don't use bap
