Was trying a PPC jenner, and I noticed hit registration seemed to be at least twice as bad compared to my highlander.

seems like the faster you yourself go the worse it gets. And god forbid you fire while using jump jets

Y'know... that is pretty similar to what I've noticed.

Taking running shots from my Quickdraw I couldn't get hit registration on a shutdown Stalker sometimes using frickin' lasers (sharks not included). But everything seems to be working better in my slower heavies and assaults. And the QKD didn't have as many issues if I was standing still. So you may be onto something...

Just more incentive to bring the big slow alpha-striking assaults, I guess. :)

Almost like HSR isn't taking the Originating 'Mech's speed into account. Huh.

sounds like that confirms that hsr isn't taking into account where the player thinks they are when they fire

I can't hit ****.

I've deliberately tested this damage problem, doing 5 LL alphas that definitely hit for the full duration of the laser blast from my POV, then died deliberately (sorry teams), then checked post match damage. About a 60% of the damage that should be registering actually is.

Second observation: I was hit by a PPC boat (~600m), hits splashing on my viewscreen. Dead on hit. Shake and rattle. Took no damage. None at all. Completely still (stupid me), not a scratch.

Explain that!

That's not ping jitter screwing up HSR, that's a much worse bug.

Yesterday I was Jumping up right after the Match started with 6 JJ using all my JJ-Fuel, on the highest Point some PPC Fire missed me a few meters to the right. I landed took two steps and then the Server decided a was hit and my CT turned orange... many seconds after the incident....

A few matches before that an AC20 hit me Center Torso, there was Sound, I saw the Ball, my Cockpit shook... yet there was no damage registered..

And then there are those matches when someone shoots lots of Stuff in you direction and never hits you... until you drop dead! Well he hit all the time, there just was no soundeffects except your own weapons, so you thought he missed all the time...

These are my biggest Problems with this game so far, yet I still like it :-)

I quit playing for two months because of the damage this mechanic has done to my personal performance. This tacked on with the 'Kick to MechLab' bug that was around - I wasn't going to play. One of these two have been remedied... So here's to hoping the other is handled soon.

Hit detections is at a level of suck that hasn't been seen since before HSR...I just got out of a game where I shot a stationary spider in the face 4 times and NONE of the damage registered.

Hit detection was working for me extremely reliably in May. One patch completely broke it and has continiously gotten worse. I have a great ping (under 50 ms) yet for some reason I cannot do damage reliably. Some of it seems to be from being near objects. I don't know why that would affect things but before messing wtih heat output from weapons. Fix the actual problem and set the heat values to what they should be instead of lowering heat to compensate for bad hit detection and boosting heat output of multiple weapons. I have a ping bellow 50 I should always do damage.

do you notice any difference between locking your reticule and not locking it and using a mech with arms that go side to side vs not?

I have noticed this problem, too. My Raven 3L's Medium Pulse Lasers often do not connect with other lights. I have never had laser accuracy issues before.

This is the worst hit detection with ballistics I've seen in a long time. ~60-75% of my hits register with my boom jager.

I wonder how bad it is on 12 v 12? :D
