So there has been some talk of a PvE element to the game but when do you want it or do you want it at all.

The only talk of a PVE element has been from a small group of players trying to push a PVE element into the game.

And the devs saying they are looking at ways to incorporate PvE and co-op methods.

I like the idea of PvE, not as much as PvP though.

PvE would be a great sideshow to PvP. It would make it easier to introduce the Clans to new players(by them getting bowled over by a pack of Vultures storming over a hill at their Atlas). And it's always good to have some co-op missions in F2P games.

You need another option... some of us would like to see pve eventually but think it should have nothing in particular to do with the Clans, they will be players, normal players, who will be in pvp, we need to just accept that already. I for one would RATHER the Clans be humans even though I don't plan to be them myself, because they will make for a more interesting challenge. On the other hand I also know there is no way it will be in at launch (they have too much else to focus on as is, the the resources it would take to get this in place well would take too much away from other important aspects that are more important they get done.

So, I would like to see at as a feature sometime down the line in the future, but not at launch, and not right when the Clans get here (the focus when the clans arrive should be on integrating Clan pvp into the game, rather than having to worry about fixing and tweeking a pve engine at the same time they are getting an in game feel for the real balance of the Clans PVP.)

The only PVE I would care to see is like MPBT: Solaris, where you can drop against bots, mostly for testing purposes. These drops would not do anything to your record or have any affect on the planetary portion of the game.

I think it would be cool to have PVE elements introduced before the Clans launch. Start off with some PVE Clan action on the out skirts before the full invasion happens and people can play the Clans.

Then launch PVE CO-OP missions for the rest of the IS for people to train and have a spammy good time.

I think that they shoudl introduce pve when the clans come but only if the AI is AMAZING

Otherwise ..no PVE

I think the best use of PvE would be in battle arenas that we can use to test our mech configurations. I suppose the initial Clan invasions could be bots, but only if they really nailed down the AI.

I would love to see PvE, especially if the clans were PvE AI only opponents and properly programmed to follow Zellbrigen (though that would be quite tricky I imagine).

Arena gladiator style where countless waves swarm your lance. You can unlock medal schievements etc for completing high end, hard content, unlocking harder PVE maps OR buying access to PVE content through the store.

That could generate them a couple hundred K right there.

I doubt it being possible to put up a challenging, good PVE at the same time you build a competitive worthwhile PvP environment - "balance" being the magical word.

So please do one thing and do it right instead of two halfcooked solutions - and given a choice I'd rather go for PvP than PvE.

If PVP is balanced, how would having arena style PVE where the mechs are only out to destroy you, with little thought to objectives etc be difficult to implement? It's the most basic of AI needed.
I have faith they could deliver.

I think most people would like the means to coordinate and practice with their lance mates without jumping into PVP.

Make PVE free repair bills and no C-Bill or XP gain and your ammo is replenished at the end of combat.

Pretty much this. I could be wrong but I think the "name-branding" of this product with the "mechwarrior' name is causing confusion between the online-only Battletech games (MPBT) and their followers and the singleplayer games and theirs (Mechwarrior 1-3 and Microsoft whatever.) I was reading elsewhere where a person was "very upset" at the potential for screwing up Mechwarrior by making it online and only online to boot and not incorporating story-based PVE.

I've always been under the impression that this was a continuation of the former rather than the latter. I personally wouldn't particularly want to see story-driven pve introduced.

My $0.02 anyway

PVE could be useful to people new to the game and mech testing. Allows a new pilot to used to playing and learn basic tactics without getting hammered by vets. Maybe a few side missions with objectives.

Yes, I even made a post somewhere asking why the Beta profile questions asked you for your Mechwarrior experience, but did not list MPBT at all. Makes me a little concerned the devs don't know about MPBT, which is basically what they are trying to create here.

honestly i like the idea of having the clans as pve-faction... but i also wouldn´t mind if MWO stays PvP, if the PvP doesn´t become boring after a while...
