Hey guys,

Given the option, would you have your 'Mech's name as a decal stenciled on the CT somewhere, and pilot name (your username) beneath the cockpit, ala military aircraft style? Or even a kill/victory tally somewhere.

Examples:

Just a thought. Something I'd really like to see though.

What do you all think?

I voted for killcount, but allow me to clarify: How about, at the start of the match, the killcount is painted on, and it reflects the number of kills you have gotten in that mech since your last death - because I don't think 1000 kills would fit on my jenner LOL.

Pilot name would also be cool.
I also want the FRR logo.

AND: An idea for PGI to make some MONEY:
Allow a player to spend MC (Say, 2000MC) to pay PGI to "approve" a decal. The decal must be in .TGA format or whatever they use internally, and include transparency for the outline shape. That way the can screen out nudity, racism, etc. That player can then use that decal from then on. That user can also "Gift" the decal to others - Ex: the rest of their merc group.

I'm not talking about your name - I'm talking about a custom designed decal that you can paint yourself in photoshop or whatever. The reason that we can't do this is probably because a bunch of weirdoes would paint genitals all over their mechs if they were allowed to do whatever they wanted without oversight. And I don't expect the people at PGI to screen though all the images for free - hence an MC price.

Then you'd have the regular whiners on here complaining that the game just went P2W cos it's just like red paint and sportscars.

Ooo, that would be really cool to have my name on my chassis.

But in my case, it may be confusing for anyone performing extrication should my ejection system fail.

Kill tally could be painted with different symbols for different powers: units, tens, hundreds etc. Painting just a decimal number will be too dull, but two bronze mech, three steel mechs and five black mechs decals can symbolize 235 kills (and silver and gold and ruby and whatever for even higher numbers). Or you just get a decal for each additional power of ten, like it's done in WoWP: first decal for your first kills, second for your tenth, third for 100th etc.

As much as I love the idea of each of those being on our mechs, I don't think that anyone will be looking close enough to see them and make them worth while. I'd settle for decals, unit and/or personal, but even that may be pushing it. When playing MW4, how often did you stop shooting someone long enough to notice their decals?

I wouldn't mind seeing "SPODERMUN" stenciled onto my SDR. Maybe with a suitable paint scheme, too.

It's not like anyone is going to see your in cockpit stuff either unless they're dead. I have my items because I like them there, not to show off to the other players. I don't mind the other players not pausing the game just to read the name of my mech painted on it's nose, but I would love for that to be there, making it more mine.
I like the kill count after the last death idea, but for the sake of the not-so-good players, maybe have the different colors for different amounts. Though I would love to see them as faction insignia instead of mechs.

Awesome idea, voted for all three.

Sure most other players won't actually be able to see them in game, but my ego demands that my name be stenciled on my mech!

mech name, pilots name (not acount name) house badge, custom made merc/company badges, (need to be pgi approved to stop erect wangs being made etc)

Official regiment badges, and canon merc badges I think are all ready in the works as faction grind rewards for cw when it arrives.

I think allowing custom images like that is a minefield PGI doesn't want to go into.

However, if they had a big list of pre-made decals, that would be cool. Or take that a step further with pre-made sections of the decals that can be mixed and matched. Such as border ring, middle section, side sections, etc..
