I'm running Windows 7 64bit operating system, I don't have the best specs in the world so when I was getting incredibly low FPS (I can never even exceed 20) I figured it was just my computer.

But I started using a program that monitors my CPU, Ram, and Pagefile usage; and noticed that whenever I'm in a match I'm only using about 30% of my CPU and 1GB or less of my available to use ram at one time.

So would upping the amount of ram and cpu usage be a safe and possible way to increase my FPS? And if its a viable option how would I go about doing that? I'm not a computer expert I'm afraid.

can you post the first part of the dxdiag so we can see the specs of your system. or if you know what hardware you have installed post it up. this will be the starting point to help you with your issue.

I would suggest getting a new video card. Its all about graphics. I had to spend about 180$ on a card to get 50+fps on very high settings.

Looking at your dxdiag your probably on a laptop. Unfortunately i think your stuck at where your at since you have a laptop there isn't much of a choice of upgrading much.

I'm impressed that the game even starts on a laptop that cheap and old!

OP your not going to get any better performance than what your already getting. I'm pretty sure what your running is well below the minimum specs. MWO isn't Farmville, it won't run on just anything, it needs a generous amount processing power.

Use either MSI Afterburner or another similar program to monitor your GPU.

That you are able to get to at least 20 FPS will be the best that will do. The question now would be, can be tuned to be consistent at 20 or thereabouts?

1. Can of Compressed air, blow out the heat sinks.
2. Control Panel, Power Options select Best Performance.
3. Nvidia program, set up a profile for MWO

• set antialiasing and everything else to performance or application control.
  
• Set that power manage mode set to prefer best performance.
  
• Ambient Occlusion to Off

4. In the MWO folder, locate user.cfg file (if not present, then create one). Put in the following, starting at 20 then drop it down to like 18.

sys_MaxFPS = 20

its a notebook and GPU upgrade is out of the question as the GPU is soldered to the mainboard

you might be better off getting a new laptop or build a desktop, keeping this notebook as a web surfer
