As a spider/jenner pilot I agree with this, would be better to tweak blips to the weight of a mech.

I agree. little disspapointed here, i was hoping for a scaling effect, but obviously hard to code.

Someone from PGI should take

and slam this module to the ground.
And this is light pilot (scout) talking.

Don't get me wrong, I could support idea of scaling based on Mech weight but I'll rather don't have it at all than have it like this (even nerfed like now). It's like one big wall hack and perhaps best 6 million CBs spent in game. And that's not good.

For PGI, "hello world" is hard to code.

Devs,

If you end up nerfing seismic sensor range to 180m and 250m can you please simply refund the seismic sensor to everyone that has purchased it? Those that wish to keep it can buy it again.

Ahh ... no?

1) Your don't speak for all of us ... so just stop.

2) Your clueless ... even at 250m, seismic is easily the best module out there for most all situations.

3) Stay ... Off ... The ... Forums ... Till ... You ... L2P

What he is saying is that people, including myself, invested 15,000 GXP to get this module because of how it currently works. If it gets changed significantly then we might not have invested the GXP to get it and would instead got something else with our GXP. This is not to mention the 6 million C-bill investment per module.

And you would be a fool?

Exactly which other module would you replace it with? Hmm? should be easy enough for you to rattle two or three off that you think are more useful. UAV maybe? 360 Retention? How about 4x Zoom?

Bottom line, even at 250m it's still OP and a must buy for anybody that doesn't want to sux donkey butt.

Yep. They may as well just remove all "fog of war", and let us see everyone on the map, if they're going to leave this wall-hack in, in any form.

You mean like every other Mechwarrior game in history?

Every other mechwarrior game, in history(that I have played, don't know how the 3025mpbt was), was a single-player game with a multiplayer aspect tacked-on.

It's a silly thing to have in the game.

Which part? Singleplayer or Multiplayer? ;)

I missed the part where PGI actually claimed that the current patch had the nerf...

Honestly, I think they should just make the detection dependent on the weight of the mech.. blip frequency at the very least.. but preferably detection range as well.

It's not beta, no matter what they might claim. It's release, as they're accepting money and there will be no resets.

accepting money? you mean like the founders program? ya know, the one you have a tag for.

Seismic allowed scouts to truly scout and mediums to brawl with most heavies and assaults.

It actually did the opposite of those things.

Seismic prevented mediums from ever getting the drop on an assault and punching their back armor, while simultaneously making it almost impossible for lights to not be detected.

Actually it would not be difficult to code for at all. I just don't think PGI wants to take the to write it for each mech. As with literally everything else in the game, PGI just doesn't care about variety and prefers to stick to the tried and true. It's the ol' lets break 9 mechs to fix 3 routine band-aid approach for PGI.

as a business owner i understand it. PGI has to justify costs. cutting the range is a good solution, much better than spending 100's of man hours changing every mechs detection ranges. I don't know whats involved, but i do find now that the sensor is a much less must have module. it mostly helps slow mechs deal with lights now rather than helping everyone find the enemy way to far away and easily.

I don't know how much a nerf will help light pilots sneak up on people. I remember luring a seismic-equipped light out of hiding by walking backwards. He popped out of cover to shoot me in the rear and stopped. We stared at each other for a full 5 seconds before I decided to shoot him. "Stupid seismic is ruining lights" were the words he used as he ran back to his team.

Correct. Would be nice if people would stop being morons and realise the term "beta" is nothing more than an excuse to justify a shoddy, unpolished, and overall sub par product.

The faster people wise up to this, the faster this game will die and hopefully battletech IP will move to a new developer/publisher
