Correct. Would be nice if people would stop being morons and realise the term "beta" is nothing more than an excuse to justify a shoddy, unpolished, and overall sub par product.

The faster people wise up to this, the faster this game will die and hopefully battletech IP will move to a new developer/publisher

beta is a label that means it is unfinished and being subject to changes. just like what we have here.

it is far better than the majority of games that just lie to you and tell you they have a complete product when what they really have is buggy untested crap.

i prefer it when game companies make a basic effort to be honest with me.

So you're saying that if it gets brought in line with the other modules, you want a refund instead of keeping it. I... you... what???

well since most of the other modules are useless ill still be using it

Yep. They may as well just remove all "fog of war", and let us see everyone on the map, if they're going to leave this wall-hack in, in any form.

Is it a very powerful module that needs heavy tweaking? Yes. Is it a "wall hack"? No. Stop using that term. It's wrong.

What would you like it to call it?

Paul's Magic 8-Ball?

I'm personally ok with calling it "Seismic Sensor" or "Advanced Seismic Sensor" instead of trying to vilify it by calling it something it obviously isn't. I'm not debating that it's too good compared to other current modules. Exaggerating to that extent doesn't do your arguments any favors though - it simply makes you look like the crazy guy on the corner with the sandwich-board scrawled with "The End is Nigh!"

EDIT: Plus, everyone loves Mick Dundee.

What he is saying is that people, including myself, invested 15,000 GXP to get this module because of how it currently works. If it gets changed significantly then we might not have invested the GXP to get it and would instead got something else with our GXP. This is not to mention the 6 million C-bill investment per module.

Seems reasonable to me that if they change something significantly, they should offer a refund in the GXP and C-bills if people don't like the module after the change.

The flipside is that a lot of people bought this KNOWING it was overpowered as **** and due for a nerf. Any crying about wanting a refund after the fact in this case is just silly. Basically all it is is knowingly buying something overpowered, abusing it while you can, and then demanding a refund when it gets the inevitable nerf. They want their cake and to be able to eat it too.

This module still needs to be completely reworked though. It's still basically a must have even with the reduced range.

The sad fact is that I might still be using this module despite the nerf, as it would still provide me anti-backraging potential (although, some will shoot @ 250+m with meds and the like), and it would still be effective in light vs light chasing.

The point being... it's easier to make fun of something that's a terrible idea from the start. It wouldn't get the proper traction to address it otherwise.

Even at 250m I think it is still a powerful and must have module used for my advantage. And I am a fast light.

Cheers!

If an idea can't gain traction on it's own merit, it's probably best not to bother. That said, the 'seismic is wallhack' thing is about as pithy as 'Micro$oft'.

Seismic needs to get fixed, or other modules to compete with it so it's not the obvious go-to need to happen... something needs to be changed. That's a good message that will stand on its own. Mudslinging just dilutes and ultimately renders moot any message involved. (Not throwing stones there... I'm as bad for it now and again as anyone. Only human and all that.)

As someone who unlocked advanced zoom as their first module a year or so ago... lemme just say to those wanting refunds: SHUT. UP.

Considering that we've had Seismic for what... 2 months now, it would've been nicer if it were addressed in a timely fashion.

The slow pace of balance progress is disappointing on so many levels.

Devs,

If you end up nerfing seismic sensor range to 180m and 250m can you please simply refund the seismic sensor to everyone that has purchased it? Those that wish to keep it can buy it again.

Seismic allowed scouts to truly scout and mediums to brawl with most heavies and assaults. With the range nerf it becomes a completely useless tool for scouting and a too-short-range-to-make-a-difference module for mediums.

I would rather put my hard-earned GXP on other modules. A nerf like this makes the module a lemon...and I want ma'h money back  (*meat loaf song)

So, this thread exists specifically as a request for a GXP refund.

If you would like to request a refund of in-game expenditures, then you must contact Support@mwomercs.com Only the support staff has access to peoples' in-game accounts and only they can process requests for refunds.

If you would like to discuss the new Seismic Sensor settings, then you can post in the Official Feedback Thread for the proposed Seismic changes, or join a different thread about the Seismic Sensor. This thread, however, is now being closed as the OP's question about requesting a refund has been settled.
