I like the idea of the polls, so that PGI get an idea of what the active community think, however I do think it would be utter madness to make and game affecting decision based purely on a poll.

god help us if the community polled out this game. I thought America wasnt a democracy but a republic? democracies are all doomed to failure?

I voted yes even though I have my doubts.
The first doubt is a quote I've heard about democracy that "Democracy is the belief that the average voter knows what they want, and deserves to get it hard." Paraphrasing but you get the idea, unless they post a lot more of the analytic data they have it's hard for the community to provide well founded feedback on some details. For some issues it's great, but not all.
The second doubt I have is perfectly shown by stormwolf just above.... if PGI has an agenda with respect to a poll outcome they can ask the 'right' questions to get the answer they wanted anyway. A variation on 'It's not who votes that counts, it's who counts the votes.'
