EDIT: Brawling was viable pre-patch you just had to walk behind cover on approach. But now you can stick to cover and dominate them. I will admit that the sniper meta is dumb as **** but its because of people like you. You wait and see what weapon is strongest and then boat it. Instead of choosing a way you want to play and having fun. I am competitive but if you are good you can still win with bad weapons.

So since today we have three main threats to balance:
- Still PPCs/Gauss builds
- LRM boats (especialy with PPCs)
- 2xAC20
Well this might be personal taste, but from my experience range still dominates brawlers. The few SRM builds I have see, where shot into pices or didn't acutally hurt my jenner - or most of the other mechs.
However, the PPC issu still isn't resolved and dual AC20 or full LRM boats are still subject to balance in my opinion.
Another way would be to boost every mechs run speed - not the turning rate, so that meele fights actualy have a chance of happening.

Yeah, a balance change approved by the forum actually worked. And the one by PGI fell flat on it's arse and introduced another needless layer of complexity to the game.
Well fancy that.
Brawlers are still underpowered though, they're only getting in range at because somehow hit registration got even more fooked up by this patch.

PPC (+Gauss) boats, dominant breed.
LRM boats, regularly.
AC40 Jaeger bombs as the only viable brawler. Rare animal.
After patch:
PPC (+Gauss) boats, regularly.
LRM boats, regularly.
Whole variety of brawlers, including AC40, which now requires more skill. Regularly.
I call it an improvement.

They will keep arguing that nothing has changed, yet I see they all modified their builds for less alpha more sustained DPS due to heat scale. Even if it's just a drop from 40 to 35 dmg it's a start and I'll take it.
Brawling meds coming back to the field is just another proof of patch success. Same as moaning about seismic, twin AC/20s and SSRMs.
So kudos to PGI for finally delivering a patch full of win.

Plus this thing is another addition that needs showing on a UI else players will be scratching their heads on release.

No, the people complaining are the ones that aren't playing at the bottom of the barrel and have seen the total effect is....nothing - bar a lot more complexity added with no rhyme or reason
45 alpha the face still reigns.

SRM being useful again is nothing? I disagree.
4mans are brawling again, and, give it some time, 8mans soon will brawl too.
My whole corp welcomed the much needed SRM buff.

I regret to inform you, that the high pinpoint alpha meta is alive and well.
The difference however is those that sucked at that meta (usually newbies, who haven't quite grasped patience and/or discipline), are the first to be burned by it.
