i just unloaded 8 ac 20 rounds into one of these super mechs at point blank range, and i died. i was killed before my 8 20's and god only knows how many medium lasers, could take down this tragically flawed P.O.S., worst part about it was, it was already missing an arm, and had sustained a lot of damage. didn't matter though, my mint condition atlas was no match for its lag armor.

this needs to be adressed soon, its been going on for a while, and i have already lived through 4 patches and nothing has been done to rectify the invincible mech. lets makj that a priorty for the next patch, because there is definately some flawed programming there.

Centurion's are totally messed up due to their hitboxes.

They are one of two mech types I've mastered. It is insane how hard it is to kill me when I use a standard engine. And even with an XL I last a long time.

Spider's are the same way.

They won't fix it though.

There is no way any medium mech in the game needs any sort of nerf

Aim for the centurions giant pelvis and you will core it in no time

The Centurion has good hitbox layouts, meaning that by torso twisting you can mitigate damage in a huge way

but it is also gigantic for its weight, only moderately armored, and if mounting a standard engine, generally restricted to the 270m range bracket

I've seen everything from stalkers to spiders with standard engines simply REFUSE to die

just find one of the threads that shows the hitboxes

when you see a fast centurion you have two options

pelvis
leg (they have thunder thighs)

pick one of those and it dies fast

It's not that it needs to be nerfed.

It's that PGI needs to change it's priorities when designing mechs, instead of letting the art department determine how mechs are going to function.

The scale, the hitboxes, all of it is ********.

The problem is the 50% damage transfer from side torso to centre torso when the side hit is already destroyed.

Centi's are a great example of this as are stalkers.

Huge side torso hit box's can be used as a sheild when they are destroyed.

So Mechs with large sides are often tankier beyond their size but also don't lend themselves to using XL engines.

Like stalkers and centy's

Whilst small side torso's as in the case of the highlander land themselves to using XL's

For eg,

Mech with 100 points of armour CT giving it 50 internals.

Now lets say his right side torso has been just destroyed but his CT is untouched.

If u were to hit only the side torso that had been blown up.

It would take u 300 points of damage to then core him out. VS the 150 it should if u were to fire at his CT.

Until PGI fixes this it gives a definate advantage in tanking to mechs with skinny CT's

(this ontop of non existant HSR and hit detection issues make some of these mechs rediculously hard to put down.)

It's Side Torsos to arms. The arm stumps are still there thus when you don't hit them in the CT but rather in the side torsos, the arm stumps take 50% damage transference.

SO I shoot the legs.
