I know this has been touched before in other forms, forgive me if it has already been a discarded possibility, but I don't think all the angles have been examined yet.
I spend alot of time tinkering with my mechs (I'm an awful gamer, but really enjoy stats and maxxing) but with so many roles on the battlefield (capper, scout, harasser, general lance support) Every time my mood changes for how I play the next pug, it’s a good 5 mins trying to remember my optimum build for each role.
Also being a new “c-bill” conscious player, I spend another 5 mins stripping mech variants down, before switching to another mech, to ensure I'm not buying anything I own twice. (I need to track every c-bill; see awful gamer above)
Loadout Profile saving (or referred to in the forum sometime last September as "blueprints") would give me a quick solution to setting up for a different role on the battlefield, and a strip mech button would allow me to recoup my inventory for next profile.
A common objection to this feature was "insufficient inventory to load profile" I think a simple shopping cart total for any items not in current inventory and a purchase confirm prompt (the way shopping in a mech bay loadout works now) would easily suffice.
Now, if I may get VERY carried away; what if we than, enable permission based sharing of blueprints between players. It will increase the social interaction and team mechanics of the game. Clans/groups can make signature loadouts. Group Commanders can strategize by being familiar with their group’s blueprints (knowing firsthand the alpha and heat characteristics of each build), even suggest loadout profiles for team members based on planned strategy before dropship. Also Merc groups can become notorious for signature loadouts (and also use that assumption to their advantage)
Does anyone see any obvious issues I may be missing? And yes this is a lofty feature request, just letting my imagination run wild
