1. MWO has problem: boating
2. MWO has problem: pinpoint damage.
And with 12 vs 12 coming - this problems only become bigger.

I have one crazy idea, but maybe it can solve both problems at once?
Every weapon when fired - generates heat. So what if fire more than 1 weapon (no matter what that should be LRMs + ACs, SRMs + lasers) at once - every weapon generates twice as nornal heat. Of course there should be macroses for mouse to avoid this, but this could be solved by rule: shots no faster than X seconds. X can be found by testing.

Say something, people. Maybe this idea in nos so crazy?

1. Not a problem.
The problem isn't boating the problem is that there are/were no penalties for exceeding heat levels. Shut down is an inconvenience not a problem. But if our targeting got fuzzy as it is in lore and TT Rules. That would help. But Boating is a part of BattleTech. Starting with the Awesome's 3PPC an Hunchback's 8(?) Medium lasers!

2. This I can agree on. Some variance from single Pixel accuracy is needed.

Boating - yes, but not all the time. Hit generated by MLs could be lowered, as for PPCs - it could be balanced to allow Awesome boating... for very special moments in combat. :D

Can my idea solve it?

No. I have been firing multiple weapons for 30 years. You are asking to much.

Cute. :P

I have my Mech's weapons broke down he way I like em. I would be rather pissed if I had to cycle them one at a time. The whole extra heat for multiple weapons was/is/ will always be stupid. Make the heat shut down 30. Period, not 30 + sinks. The heat system has been a mess due to firing at the old Solaris rates as it was in that version of the TT game. A turn is 10 seconds 5 seconds for my fire and heat dispersion and 5 for yours. That is one turn, not fire and wait 10 seconds for heat to vent.

Boating and pinpont are not the problem, tonnage is. Specifically, being able to stack a team with the heaviest mechs that can take the most amount of damage and deal the most amount in an alpha.

One day all the pleebs will learn about forming team lances, and not playing mechassault forward+m1, which having no limits on team building, and smaller then mecassault maps provide.

Disagree with first part, agree with second one.

R&R with proper numbers could solve it. R&R cut off.

+1. Tonnage limits are hugely important. 50% of the whining here is because pinpointing assault mechs is so easy, and everyones or half of every1 is in assaults right now.

Or Battle Value limitations...
