So I picked the founders Catapult for the package that I bought, and ive always had a hard time finding somthing that really felt right to me. Each mech chassis has its own kinda feel, and the new build I made just feels right now. With the right equipment, LRM's are effective now, and worth mounting.
Using a big XL engine, endo, Double heatsinks, and jumpjets, it is really maneuverable. With the movement changes jumpjets are really useful now to.

Anyway, it actually has decent back up weapons, So overall I dont run it like LRM support mech really, more of a mid-ranged general battlemech.

Me too. I run 2LLasers, 2MLasers, 2SRM6+Art, DHS, and I think an XL295. It is fast, hit's hard, and incredibly manuverable. It is one of my favorite go-to mechs.

The best success i've had is with a snd 300, 3 large lasers and 19dhs. The mech has a lot more zombie potential than relying on the constrictive missile hardpoints and it disipates the heat from constant fire like a pro.
I prefer this build because i work best with lasers, although another good mix is 1 LRM 15 and 1 SRM 6, which adds punch to whatever your energy preference is nicely and still gives you a respectable bombardment weapon.
I have seen the twin ERPPC setup be effective, and you can mount streaks with those to give yourself room for good heat disapation. This is all assuming you have a fairly large standard engine. I would strongly warn against dipping below the base 260, and moving up is usually preferable.
While the XL vs standard is always a matter of preference, i feel that the C1 doesnt have enough well placed hardpoints to warrant the saved weight. If all the energy hardpoints were in the side torsos or it had some extra missile hardpoints that would be one thing, but endo seems to be a good standby for the extra weight you need, and presuming you dont get headshot in the first two minutes of the match, it adds a lot of staying power to your mech.

I kept away from Endo and Ferro so that I had the maximum amount of open crit slots for DHS. I agree that the Cat C1 is best used fast. XL seems to be a descent choice to the smaller side torsos (although it does take up spots for DHS).

Simmilar to mine, but I did it without xl engine, less ammo, 25 lrms, no jumpjets and erppc instead of large laser
