He'll also need to keep track of the modelers so that they won't mess up scale, squat and wide. And no tiny PPC model at the top or in the possible hero variant... I can live with King Crab chassis taking the place of Marauder II

Q: KING CRAB? While this would have been an overwhelming chassis a year ago, it is uniquely suited to meeting the Daishi head-on on the battlefield with similar range, armor, tonnage, speed, and loadout. Alex already did a fabulous sketch of the King Crab, and a souped-up clanbuster variant hero mech will sell
A: Yes Alex has been pushing for this for a while. Next time were talking about Assault mechs I will be sure to bring up the subject.

Am I missing the time they turned a ballistic mech in to an energy boat?

Yeah, though I hate to sound petty, while I LOVE ALex's take on the Crab, and felt the KGC was....uninspired and didn't really fit with the look of MWO.... so I am hoping he wows us with a whole new model. But I gotta admit, I'm getting burned out enough that it's not really fun designing mechs anymore.

I would pilot this, and I barely like assaults (too slow and yet I know this thing would be like 12kph). Bonus points if the pincers open up if i hit the open missile bay door button.

48 kph stock speed, actually. (so, yeah, slow as snot in a siberian winter, lol). Pure area denial weapon. Conquest Mode? Fuhgetaboutit.

I just hope that concessions are made for usability - I vastly prefer the position of the arms in your rendition to the original concept. I also love the chest plates on yours, they are so crab right now.
I also hope that a variant with more than one ballistic in each arm makes it in. 4xUAC5 will be awesome.
Alex has been driving this for ages - I can't wait to see the Awesomeness he puts to paper.
